Just found this. Incredible!!!! You can see that it was,just a matter of time until Samir won the O. His size here is great. But he is not yet at the point of nailing his peak. BUT...he looks insane. And the applause that he gets from the crowd at 2:00 minutes into video...upon hitting quite possibly the greatest twisted back shot ever....is something that just doesnt happen for audiences anymore. And by 2:10 in....it becomes deafening!!! And also check out around 1:30 minutes....how absolutely off the charts the roar of the crowd gets. Man...those days are over. What a golden age it was.

Going through old pics the consensus seems to be the Welsh bodybuilder,Paul Grant, who had a cameo in Pumping Iron, was the first one.

In 1974 ,on the right,next to Tony Emmott. Wonder if the audience and judges,at the time.knew what they were looking at....
