We don’t need to wonder how the Senator’s plan would work in the U.S.; we just need look at Sweden where, over at least a 50-year period, the percentage of the workforce employed by the government increased 10-fold from 3% to 30%, while the number of private sector jobs remained the same.

It’s as if someone has to die for someone new to get a private sector job.
About 15% of American workers have government jobs, with 2% of them Federal. But the number of private sector jobs here aren’t like real estate, i.e. all there is is all there will ever be; they increase over time.
