Cool thanks.

Here is the last show he did, '94 nationals and placed 14th. He was way off and the competition was insane during that time - didn't help.

Yeah, he's big time off there. Compare that pic of him with these from the same position. Night and day.

Found it. Here's the 1984 M&F magazine where you can find the article with those pics. I have it in a box in my closet.

He seemed way to smooth/soft there. I believe that's late 1970's. He improved a lot after that. He gained a ton of muscle.

I had the pleasure of training with Bertil in the early 80's in World Gym Santa Monica. Bertil trained with very heavy weights and a fast and loose training style.. He was a very cool and interesting individual. Its a shame how his life ended up..

He sure trained sloppy! He was very lucky not tearing anything.

Early '90s comeback, but he never managed to get on stage at his best during that time. Tarzan hair timeframe.

Bolasterone of peace.
I love this response...the way you worded it. TARZAN HAIR TIMEFRAME.

He shouldn't have done LHW that year, got some bad advice. Great condition but not suited for his height.
Rory said that he posed to James Bond theme, "FOR YOUR EYES ONLY L" at this show. And supposedly it was the biggest standing ovations of the entire show.

Samir was the deserved winner. But, come on,it was Bertil's weak back that did him in....

Wow, Haney looked great that year! I did an interview with Lee and he said he was weighing 242 pounds about a month before the contest and he lost another 10 pounds that he didn't need to lose. Arnold saw him pose at World's Gym and said he looked ready one month before the Olympia but he asked him how he was going to hold onto that condition for a month. The next year, Lee competed at 242 pounds and he easily won the show.
