It doesn't get talked about much, but had a pretty great short powerlifting career. Went to some major meets. He was one of those old school all around guys.

interesting how he talks about taking 5 or 6 or 8 months off from lifting every year
can any old timers comment on this
I recall reading similar things about people like Chuck Collras and even Zane who would supposedly do very short, barely "maintenance" workouts in the off season and look like nothing and then get into very good shape very quickly
So these guys would basically ramp up training, drugs, etc.. for a few months and then just stop everything after a contest?
