sumo Vs Regular Deadlifts

pros & cons ? thinking of trying more sumo style.

I like the sumos. Maybe  because I’m tall I always found that regular deadlifts put a little too much strain on my lower back. The sumosalso allow you to get a deeper squat and hit the quads more.

Also worth doing deadlifts on a trap bar if you want more emphasis on the quads and less stress on the lower back.

My deadlifts are between a stiff-legged and regular deadlift.

Yes but what gives most upper back Sumo or regular. Ok more leg in Sumo. Still need upper back.

I see sumo deadlifters have a smaller range of motion than regular. If sumo works for you and you compete then sumo is the way to get a bigger lift. I  think if you are going for athletic transfer then conventional is what you should be doing.
