Kid was 17.......he already broke the law just being in possession of a shotgun and a pistol.
More gun laws would have totally stopped this. ::)

If I had kids or grandkids still in school, I'd be signing them up for home school/on-line school programs tomorrow morning. School shootings have become a huge and devastating catastrophe.

come on man, more high schoolers die in car crashes (and probably a thousand other things) than school shootings

besides what happens when the shooting happens at home.

then what, bubble wrap them and lock them in a panic room ?

Handgun and a shotgun, both illegally possessed.  Very inconvenient for those folks that want to ban so-called assault rifles as a solution to school shootings.

The school should have posted more "Gun Free Zone" stickers I guess.

I think what most people on that side would want would be an Australia style gun ban, or like SF1900 says, ban all guns.

Is that the story now?  Not too long ago I remember having to argue with people calling me paranoid and saying "nobody wants to take your guns....blah blah blah, common sense regulations".

Also.........Fuck Australia.

Do you have amnesia or something? This post was witty/ logical. The Strawman account is compromised. I suspect the Russians.

Devastating, yes. Huge, no.

When it comes to these mass shootings, it seems huge to me. It should never happen.

  • The U.S. had 78 mass shootings between 1983 and 2013.
  • The highest number of mass shootings experienced outside the United States was in Germany – where seven shootings occurred.
  • In the other 24 industrialized countries taken together, 41 mass shootings took place.
  • In other words, the U.S. had nearly double the number of mass shootings than all other 24 countries combined in the same 30-year period.

I can't disagree with you regarding auto crash related deaths, particularly among teenagers and folks in their early 20's.

While shootings do happen in the home for various reasons, such as domestic violence and suicide, they aren't usually considered mass shootings. Furthermore, a mass shooting is very unlikely to occur in my home. In my opinion, your scenario is far-fetched and it makes little sense.

Why do you say this? It isn't funny. In fact, your comment is disgusting and juvenile. I thought you were a better person.

That's just where it starts. Then with the slow desensitizing of this generation, the next will be okay with total confiscation. That's why it's okay to have those on the other end of the spectrum that fight for all gun rights, even the right to own a machine gun. It's called balance, and as long as we have it, we will have our guns.

Can you define what was used as a "mass shooting" for your stats?
Where the same parameters used for other countries?
How many "mass shootings" were gang related?

Shotgun and .38 revolver

other teens with same mental problems as this guy and the other past "mass shooting" teens...become "famous" due to the media... these people were insignificant as a pimple on a mouses ass... now they are famous due to the media "glamorizing" these events. so if you think about it  the media makes these guys famous.... i remeber reading about a serial killer that fed off media attention due to his killings...ie: newspapers, tv media etc.. the fbi cut all ties with the media to limit his coverage of his future murders with the media... he fed off the attention he got.. ill try to look his name up, but it makes sense to me.

my point is.. .there are many many more teens with the same mental problems as this teen... but they watch tv and see how famous these guys get so they do the same... a domino effect
