Samantha Bee's comment about Ivanka was tasteless and crude. It is appropriate that she apologized. However, what she said wasn't racist. Samatha's blunder and Rosaanne's are not comparable. Whether she loses her job or not depends on her contract with TBS. If there is a morals clause that includes using vulgar language is grounds for dismissal, she could be a goner. Also, if TBS is losing sponsors and viewers because of this, well....money talks.

ABC knew Rosanne was a loose cannon before they rebooted her show. They took the risk because they thought the show would be a success, and it was. Whether their gamble was worth it or not remains to be seen.

Roseanne was a known racist before ABC rebooted her show. They put up with multiple controversies between the time the show was announced and the time it was cancelled.

They tried to work with her because of money, she was a long time problem and she finally crossed a line that made her too much of a liability. It has nothing to do with being a trump supporter.
