Don't blame a whole nation for treacherous people who lead them astray. Sweden, and many other 1st world nations, have permanent indoctrination and artificial luxury which fucks them up.
There's always some kind of (errant) idiocy involved but do you really think the general voter had any influence on this outcome? It was often "right wing" parties who opened the door for immigrants because of their need for cheap labor. Right wing/left wing has been distorted by "for or against imported voters" but in to a large extent it was about economics and there the, often "liberal" and business savy, right wingers were huge on the import of unskilled slaves.
90% of the people need to be lead and they were lead to their demise - it's the leader's fault and not the servant's.
