ABC News Apologizes After Banner Falsely Claims Paul Manafort Killed Five People
The Washington Free Beacon ^ | 20 June 2018 | Alex Griswold
Posted on 6/20/2018, 2:16:35 PM by Magnatron

ABC News issued an apology Wednesday after a banner during a live report claimed that former Donald Trump aide Paul Manafort had admitted to killing five people.

The network covered President Donald Trump's afternoon meeting live in anticipation of his announcement that he was issuing a directive to end the practice of separating parents and children caught crossing the border illegally.

During the ABC broadcast, the banner briefly displayed the chyron "Manafort pleads guilty to 5 charges of manslaughter." While the former Trump campaign manager is in jail after his bail was revoked, he has not pleaded guilty to any crimes and has not been charged with manslaughter.

In a series of tweets, ABC News apologized for the error and promised to get the bottom of why the graphic appeared.

And she is supposed to be a "fact checker".

ICE demands apology from New Yorker fact-checker after slandering agent and Marine veteran as Nazi

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency is demanding a fact-checker for The New Yorker magazine apologize after she mistakenly accused a Marine veteran and current ICE agent of having a Nazi tattoo.

Talia Lavin, a staff member of The New Yorker and contributor to The Village Voice, came under fire over the weekend after spreading misinformation and accusing Justin Gaertner – a combat-wounded Marine veteran and the agency’s forensic analyst – of being a closeted Nazi sympathizer for a tattoo she perceived as being the “Iron Cross.”

But the tattoo on Gaertner’s left elbow has nothing to do with Nazi Germany at all — it is “the ‘Titan 2,' the symbol for his platoon while he fought in Afghanistan," ICE said on Monday. "The writing on his right arm is the Spartan Creed, which is about protecting family and children."

Others on social media joined Lavin in criticizing the agent. Actor Ron Perlman, known for his work in “Hellboy” and “Sons of Anarchy,” also spread the falsehood on Twitter.

“I know I’m a leftist, ‘D List’ actor, so my twitter feed is probably deceiving me, but is that an iron cross tattooed on this hero’s arm? This is a mistake, right? Cuz the Iron Cross was a symbol of Nazi Germany. Gotta be my twitter feed is leaning left again,” Perlman tweeted.

Sleep reparations now!

Here is a simple solution - wake up earlier and work and make yourself tired and at end of the day you are too tire to stay up all night

Rasmussen Poll Shows Media blitz on border children separations appears to have failed
American Thinker ^ | 06/22/2018 | Thomas Lifson
Posted on 6/22/2018, 10:58:00 AM by SeekAndFind

The leftist media establishment threw in every propaganda tool they have, from heart-rending videos of children of color behind chain link fences to abundant tears: crying children and MSNBC hosts Lawrence O’Donnell and Rachel Maddow weeping on air.

If only there had been puppies being tortured on the border, those images surely would have been used, pulling out all the stops for visual emotional manipulation.

And yet the Rasmussen poll yesterday showed:

When families are arrested and separated after attempting to enter the United States illegally, 54% of Likely U.S. Voters say the parents are more to blame for breaking the law. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that only 35% believe the federal government is more to blame for enforcing the law. Eleven percent (11%) are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

To help understand the current political debate over the children issue, a closer look shows that 82% of Republicans and 56% of voters not affiliated with either major political party feel the parents are more to blame for breaking the law. But 60% of Democrats say the government is more to blame for enforcing the law.

Seventy-five percent (75%) of Democrats think the Trump administration is too aggressive in trying to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into the United States, a view shared by only 23% of Republicans and a plurality (46%) of unaffiliated voters.

Among all voters, 49% say the administration is too aggressive trying to stop illegal immigration. Twenty-five percent (25%) say it’s not aggressive enough, while 21% view the administration’s policies as about right.

There's nearly a Nixon '74 level of public support for impeaching Trump
CNN ^ | June 22, 2018 | Byron Wolfe
Posted on 6/22/2018, 3:36:40 PM by Rennes Templar

(CNN)There is a truly remarkable number in the most recent CNN poll, conducted by SSRS and out this morning.

In it, 42% of Americans say President Donald Trump should be impeached and removed from office. What makes it remarkable is that he's on par with President Richard Nixon, who 43% of Americans said should be impeached and removed from office in a March 1974 Harris poll. That was after the scale of Watergate came to light, but months before the House started to move against Nixon, who would go on to resign in August 1974 rather than be impeached.

Impeachment requires "treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors," according to the Constitution, which also lists it as the the only thing for which a President can't issue a pardon. Trump has bragged that he certainly has the power to pardon himself but won't need to use it. Nixon got a pardon from Gerald Ford, the man to whom he gave the keys to the White House.

The 43% supporting Nixon's impeachment in that Harris poll, by the way, is much higher than the 29% who supported impeachment for President Bill Clinton in 1998. Or, for that matter, the similar number who wanted Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush impeached. As CNN's Grace Sparks writes, there's basically "a baseline of pro-impeachment sentiment for a modern president" and Trump far eclipses it. So why aren't top Democrats clamoring to impeach Trump? To be sure, there are efforts on the outskirts of the party and in Congress, but they do not have the backing of party big wigs.

Most Democrats in Congress, for the record, have opposed efforts by Rep. Al Green, a Texas Democrat, to bring the issue to the floor of the House.

Being Trump's wife must be like being married to the late Howard Hughes or being the girlfriend of Hugh Hefner.
