Yes, absolutely.  Durability is often overlooked as a genetic trait but some players just don't get hurt.  Smith was an Ironman.

On the flip side, you have players like RG3 or Derrick Rose that can't stay healthy

Can you remind me the name of the "durability gene"? Can't seem to find it in my reference manual.

He suffered a career ending injury on a routine tackle.  That doesn't happen to athletes with durable genetics

Please read what I wrote. What looked like a routine tackle, wasn’t. He was in almost full stride, full extension on that tackle. No way in hell can you protect that hip/hip rotator when at almost full speed. Btw, what is a “durable” gene? Look at the film, then slow it down and watch frame by frame at the mechanics of the stride and the tackle. It’s like separating a dislocated joint.

Emmitt Smith, dexter Jackson and Tom Brady seem to have the durable gene  ;D

actually it's routine tackles and not the hits that make the highlights that cause the most injuries

i'm more impressed by guys with high peaks and short careers than guys that were good but stayed healthy throughout their career

here's a genetic elite athlete, mario lemieux

6'4 and handsome, smoked cigarettes and his idea of offseason training was cutting out french fries with his club sandwich

still wrecked the league and is on the mount rushmore of hockey according to most hockey experts, won mvp while receiving chemotherapy for hodgkins disease

he had a lot of back issues too, so no he didn't have "durability genetics" but he had everything in the world working against him health wise and he still was the best

A liberal version of Lebensborn?  It would never see the light of day if it were anything but libtardian this time around.  No thanks to either variation.

Lebron is in his 15th year and is still a freight train.  6'8", at least 260 lbs, never gets injured.

He'll run past you, run through you , or jump over you...............and then lose in the NBA Finals.

Not his fault. Still the best player on the planet. Can't do everything yourself especially against a team with 4 potential HOFers.

I'd argue that it is his fault.  Lebron personally picked the roster when he was in Miami and also the last 4 years in Cleveland.  He wanted Kevin Love, he leaned on the team to overpay Thompson and JR Smith, he chased away Kyrie, etc.

It sucks for him that the Warriors super team was better than the super team he tried to create in Cleveland but that's exactly what happened.  Plus, he has an ugly wife.  Now he's gonna bail on his team for the 3rd time and try to create yet another super team somewhere so he can pick up some more cheap rings.

When Kyrie left, he really had no chance. That had very little chance when he was there.  Its a miracle he took this time as far as he did. If he wants to win more rings he has to bring at least two other HOFers and a good bench.
