Of course I don't know for sure, but whenever I read 'stomach bug' within a few days of a contest I can't believe it - the chances of contracting food poisoning right at the end of a 16 week prep where you've eaten the same things a thousand times just doesn't float for me. Maybe more seasoned competitors than myself could confirm this, but the urge to just do a little more of x,y,z the last couple of days - or try some weird carbing up sh1t like baby food or something is pretty strong... So I tend to read reports of 'stomach bugs' as people wobbling from the course... but what do I know after all........
Nah, man, that's a perfectly valid point, and fair reason to be skeptical. I reckon it is possible, though, since: Dorian didn't seem like a major bullshitter; further, going from Atlanta to Europe does increase the likelihood of some suspect food. Of course, there's also the possibility that his immune system was simply more susceptible to illness: being that lean and dry is grounds enough for getting sick. I was never CLOSE to Dorian, but the few times I competed, I noticed that being really lean did my system no favors.
