I'll have to buy one and give it a try. Was thinking they were a lot more expensive.

You have to be careful that you are not ignoring a deeper problem.  If you still have apnea, stopping the snoring doesn't solve the root problem.

Looks cool too  ;D

But seriously - glad it works for you, my snoring can sometimes give me bruised kidneys (where my wife punches me while I'm asleep)

Unfortunately if you've had your nose broken a few times and ended up with a partial occlusion on one side (don't worry, I'm still handsome  ;)), then as your body cycles from each nostril during the night a device like this might occasionally wake you up with a choking sensation...

I've been thinking about something like this instead... anyone used something similar..?

...wake you up with a choking sensation...

This is the number one symptom of apnea...

So that...apparatus, is less intrusive than a cpap?

It is necessary to identify the root problem. This may happen if you go to a doctor or get help on the forum.

Obesity is a causal factor in sleep apnea.

Eat less.

Being a fat ass can cause sleep apnea, but so can a lot of other things. Ironically too much muscle in certain areas can cause it too.

So is having a blocked nostril - took me a few years to work this out in the days before Wikipedia  ;)

"Nasal Cycle
The nasal cycle is the often unnoticed alternating partial congestion and decongestion of the nasal cavities in humans and other animals. It is a physiological congestion of the nasal concha, also called the nasal turbinate, due to selective activation of one half of the autonomic nervous system by the hypothalamus."

I'd be afraid that thing would choke me out if my nose ever got plugged up.  ???
