What is up with these dirty-appearing adornments, which along with pit bulls, are a staple of the current-day urban tough guy?

Interesting thing about todays trends, for instance, I almost didn't get hired with the ship I'm working on due to their policy of no visible tattoos for all front of the house staff, I have a ring tattoo, so I just told them I can wear a ring and cover it up, so they ended up hiring me. Fast forward I've been on this ship for 8 years now and you got people with full sleeves, tattoos on their necks, all kinds of crazy shit. It's so common now companies have no choice but to adhere to the times or else they will not have any staff. One company I do know that sticks to their guns is Disney, they will absolutely not hire anyone with visible tats (front of the house) back of the house staff is a different story, most chefs/cooks I know are heavily tatted, but they are not in front of customers.

I watch that show live PD and can't believe all the cops with sleeves now. Like you said many departments have changed their policies because so many applicants have ink. Also most young vets have them.

athletes have to wear uniforms so wild hairstyles, tattoes gets to be a way to express their individuality.

in society as a whole, we dont need to as we can wear what we want and express ourselves that way

thats why i wear otomix boots, mc hammer pants, string tanktops and bandanas

Tattoos just aren't cool anymore. When I was young only bikers and some of the military had them. I live near the beach. You will see grandma, mom, dad, teenagers and the rest of the family with one or more tattoos. Just conformist.
