Yes, it's pretty obvious from his name Michael Arvilla that he is indeed a jew.  Perhaps a Spanish Jew?  Bench, you would need two promotions to get to be an asshole.

Watched it this AM. A shame what he is going thru. Hope he heals up more and backs off on the lifting.
(Though it doesn't seem what he does in the gym these days is destructive, but I guess it is if screws are breaking).

Too strong for his own good, lifted crazy weights...

It's a biography, mixed with a sympathy piece for Ronnie. It goes through his life story from beginning, his rise through the ranks, his Olympia reign, and finally the last few busted out years. You get praise and backstage stories from most of the big time bodybuilders of the era about him, but nothing too shocking. It's definitely not hard hitting or surprising, but if you're a fan of Ronnie, it's decent.

6/10.
Great review, totally agree but if I could turn back the time, I wouldn't watch this simpleton's suffering.
Watch "born strong" instead.
He walks around like a wounded silver gorilla.
He definitely isn't dumb as he looks, just a very shallow and simple soul.
His genetics are second to none though, even better than Oliva IMHO.

It gave you a very good look into Ronnie's life. Truthfully, he sounds like a normal person. He doesn't come off as arrogant. On the contrary, it was refreshing to see him talk about not winning at first and feeling dismayed with the idea of bodybuilding following many heart-wrenching losses. It was also nice to see him give Flex Wheeler credit for having the best genetics and Levrone for introducing him to the best diuretic/anxiolytic he ever had in his life (coffee + vodka).

Ronnie was blessed with amazing genes for bodybuilding with a high receptor affinity towards hormonal supplementation. He was a responder like very few others and had a great build that lends itself well to this type of activity.

What's truly sad is that he is addicted to bodybuilding and evidently steroids. He stood at the very top of the bodybuilding world, winning so many Mr. Olympia titles and probably making a lot of money. But once the lights were turned off and he finally lost, he couldn't move on. He couldn't just accept that every IFBB Mr. Olympia at some point in their lives needs to pack up the thong, stop lifting heavy and call it a day. Instead, he felt moved to keep lifting with the same intensity and injecting with the same reckless abandon. His body gave up and his spine showed the effects of a life of sloppy lifting with some of the worst form ever. The man was as strong as an ox and I'm sure he appreciated his gifts, but to what end? To now live a life condemned to crutches as your best friends?

Haney did it right. Ronnie is going about it all wrong. Unfortunately, I think he will end up injuring himself again and needing even more surgeries. Spine surgery is like a revolving door. You work on a few levels, those get strengthened, but the ones below and above are now trying to keep up with the new added stability and then they start to go to shit. Ronnie got the memo, but unfortunately can't read and instead will figure this out the hard way. With kids in the picture and bills to pay, this man needs to relax.

The worse part is that he just seems like a jolly giant who doesn't understand the meaning of not having to win. He isn't a loser at heart, but fuck is he losing at life with his continued antics.

From Javier Perez, a friend of mine on watching this movie...

Never thought a movie that depicts not only a hero of mine and my reason to start bodybuilding in the late 90’s, but the greatest Mr Olympia of all time, would make me drop a few tears. I spent 5 days in 2003 and another 5 in 2004 training with Ronnie Coleman in his house in Arlington. I met his whole family, I went to his church. I witnessed him winning his last 3 Mr Olympia’s. To see him in crutches, completely deterioration of his body at his age, it absolute kills me! But.. that man is a true inspiration. If you want to watch something cool and out of your comfort zone, please do so!!! #GOAT

Wow...it's on Netflix
A must watch..
From the beginning.. to current day / his 8th surgery..
It's sad watching him on crutches.. But as others have stated .. It's because he continues to damage what is left of his body by continuing to lift weights..
