What's wrong with being different and believing in something different than someone else? Am I being violent because I identify and call myself a Christian? That I believe in something different from, say, a Muslim. If we are all suppose to be the same then who should switch? Should I become a Muslim to keep the peace? Should they become Christians? One of my neighbors, who is a peace of shit, shop lifts and cheats people. I asked him, why does he steal and scam people when he makes over 90 grand a year (he showed me his w2-- bragging). He said that in this world you have to get what you can get anyway you can. All this heaven and hell thing is bullshit. You just have to be smart enough not to get caught.
That's his belief system. That's not mine. I want to keep it that way. And, yes, if you believe in something in life. If you stand for something in life. If you are willing to defend your beliefs then of course not everyone will agree with you. Some may resent and even hate your. Some may even try to forcibly prevent you from practicing your beliefs which will led to violence. OK, but what are your alternatives? Should you just give up your wallet to the thief? Should we have just allowed the Communist to take over the world? Should the Israelis just march into the Red Sea and surrender their land?
