I did not expect to be bitten by the pool bug. it was really unexpected. but bitten I am. I have not watched TV for two months, no internet porno. I just put on some music, and start hitting balls. I do drills, make up my own drills, keeping track of my practicing. my goal is to probably practice the rest of the year, and then start hitting the local tournaments. I want to be so good that people will say who the fu&k is that old guy. im hoping the diamond table will be the final component for me.

age doesn't seem to be a hindrance in billiards. its just practice, remembering the different spins and where the cue ball is headed. I am also only going to play on 7 foot bar sized tables. as the 9 footers are just to damm long for me.

I used to play pool as a teen, would make some money in the local bars beating the regulars. Won a few tournaments but lost interest years ago. My brother took it to another level, plays as a hobby, has attended a couple pool schools ,( I didn't even know you could attend a pool school) and he rarely misses.  He is in a local league but has no interest in any big tournaments.

As far as 9 footers, if you can master the larger tables, the smaller tables are a cinch.

so I decided to buy a pool table for my family room. did some research on the internet, decided to buy a table from a online dealer for 1600. had good reviews, and seemed legit. payed thru PayPal, so I never ever met the owner, just texted and email. as soon as the installers drove up to my house I kind of knew that I was screwed. the table came in a box, and on the side of the box said MADE IN CHINA?????? I Called up the owner and bitched, and he said American tables are the same, but double the price. so I was stuck with a china table. the installers looked like they knew what they were doing, and one guy said he had been installing pool tables for 20 years. they could not have fucked up the installation any worse. they didn't do a lot of stuff they were supposed to. so I bitched again to the owner, and he knocked off 100 bucks.

so I started playing on the table, and I realized that I freaking love the game of pool. I was playing 2 to three hours a day, everyday. but the table sucked. just sucked. so I went to a local pool hall to try there tables, and the difference was night and day. the table I played on was a diamond table, which is the Rolex of pool tables.

so today, I GAVE MY PIECE OF SHIT POOL TABLE AWAY FOR FREE, just to get rid of it. this is after I spent 400 dollars to refelt the table with the best felt on the market. didn't matter, you can't put a Rolex watch band on a timex watch. doesn't work.

so Friday, I have a brand new diamond pro am pool table being delivered, for 5500. so I lost out on 1500, plus 400 for the reflex. my mistake cost me 1900 bucks. pretty big mistake. but thats how I roll. I made a mistake, and took care of it.

"A fool and his money are soon parted."  Just think of all the other things you could have bought with that $1500.  ::)

I have a slate bed competition pool table from the 70's which was being thrown out by the local Tennis Club a few years ago.  It weighs over 600lbs and I paid fuck all for it as they just wanted it moved.  Back in the late 70's and early 80's there was an annual junior open tennis tournament held at the club which attracted the best juniors such as McEnroe and Pat Cash and they all used to play on this table. It now has pride of place in my games room. Not bad for fuck all.

Can we enumerate some better options?

1. Tanning oil
2. New barbell
3. ...

If you are really into pool and enjoy it no problem spending the $$ on it (if you can afford it).

Maybe you can track this shyster down and get revenge on the b*st*rd.

Not surprised. You don’t come across as an intelligent individual. My guess is that you spent your career with a hammer and nails in hand.

HVAC is a great field to be in.

You aren't going to be replaced by a robot or someone in Malaysia who will work for 50 cents/hr.
