Sometimes, the truth hurts. If you knew something about real estate and economics, I'd ask you for a solution to West Linn's lack of diversity. I'll start off with an example, new low income housing would help the less fortunate move here and that might improve diversity. Problem is, no real estate investor would ever do this because buildable properties are scarce and expensive. Investors need to make a profit or they go bankrupt. According to realtors working in the area, the new home listings are about $800,000 dollars. If West Linn has a low income ghetto, my house which is currently appraised at $535,000 would be in it.

It's not just in West Linn that housing is expensive. The entire Portland Metro area has one of the highest housing costs in the nation.

The black folks who made that area their home can no longer afford to live there. I semi agree with you. What we have here is some sort of hybrid between public and private healthcare. What you’re leaving out is the employer-based health care insurance. Most people with those plans destroy any kind of European healthcare coverage. That said even that’s ridiculous. It shouldn’t exist as it was a temporary intervention which became permanent. It left people tethered to their jobs because if they left their job then they lost their health insurance. The real answer is to crash the whole thing and start over from scratch but that’s not gonna happen.

You can go back-and-forth about the shit all day but in the end there are two types of systems. The price system, capitalism,  and the line system, socialism. The former is what we have here  where the poorest people are the fattest in the world. The line system is what you have in Venezuela were poor fucks wait all day just for a piece of moldy bread in the supermarket.
