-Love to see peace on earth before I die. Looking back through history, peace has been unattainable. What's the chance anything is different now? Mankind may be incapable of achieving true peace. From the dawn of time, man grouped in tribes in order to survive. Tribes are often at war with other tribes no matter how small or large the membership. Today's tribes form alliances and the alliances are sometimes at odds with each other. Sometimes the nations within an alliance disagree. Groups of people large and small  disagree (conservatives vrs liberals). Many families feud. When you think about it, humans seem to prefer conflict over peace.

Socialism may be more common today then in times past. Some folks don't see much of a difference between socialism and communism, but there is. Socialism and capitalism can co-exist. Communism needs to wipe out capitalism to flourish. One way to avoid socialism is to pay folks a decent wage, one that they can actually live on. If more employers offered medical benefits, there would be less demand for socialized medicine.
