The whole outrage is stupid. Obviously a mistake to post it, but the responses are completely illogical. So Trump intentionally posted because he's a racist? If so, why did he remove it? Because he's racist? He doesn't care what anyone thinks, so if he intentionally posted it, he would have left it there.
Trump claims he did not post it; an unidentified staff person did. Trump also claims he did not watch the whole video when previewing it and missed seeing the 'offending/racist' part. So, the question should be, had he seen that part, would he still have approved the posting of it? One can only hope that he would not have because he recognized how bad the optics/perception of racism would be.
It is too bad Press Secretary; Karen Leavitt provided such lame excuses for it having been posted. According to her, the video depicted Trump as "King of the Jungle" and the Obama's as characters from The Lion King. Unfortunately, she did not realize apes were not characters in the Lion King.
Kelly Ann Conway's remarks about 'alternative facts' while discussing the size of Trump's crowds comes to mind. Also, the multiple stupid and untrue remarks made by Sean Spicer when he was Trump's press secretary. Maybe Ms. Leavitt can get a gig on 'Dancing with The Stars', like Sean. Hopefully, she is a better dancer. LOL! Although he did stay in the competition for 8 weeks, so there is that.
