A federal arts commission approving the final design for a 24-karat gold commemorative coin emblazoned with President Donald Trump‘s likeness has sparked backlash online Thursday night, as the Associated Press (AP) reported the currency’s approval.

Regardless of how Trump felt, why did he say it? Do you think his doing so was appropriate? I also would not have said it, no matter how I felt about the departed.

He said it because that’s exactly how he feels and he always says exactly what he is thinking.  That’s part of his authenticity.  It’s one of the things I like (and dislike) about him. 

He said it because the man tried to put in him prison, along with his family, and associates, based on an absolute lie.  And literally did get convictions of people for having absolutely nothing to do with being a Russian spy (Manafort and Stone), solely as a way to try and injure Trump.

What we say in our heads is nobody's business. What we say out loud is. Sometimes it is better to say nothing at all than it is to be authentic and say exactly what we feel, particularly when we have a huge audience and it reflects negatively on us.

I think that's generally true.  Those rules don't apply to Trump.  He's different.  A lot of the traditional rules don't apply to him.
