I agree. Another war at this time when our Allies are miffed at the U.S. is a really bad idea. As to other U.S. leaders who publicly met with Putin, I guess you'd have to watch videos of the meetings to discern if that was the case. Either way, it doesn't excuse Trump. He's set himself up as the all powerful macho fixer - deal maker. This makes any failure to do so all the more evident. He's under a microscope of his own making.

Aren't we still waiting for Kim Jong Un to follow through on his promisses to Trump?

There's a couple of reasons for this. Number one is that Trump makes such a big deal out of everything he does, even before it happens, that he sets the stage for criticism. Number two is that he's constantly challenging the media even though they had a lot to do with him being elected (good and bad media attention puts a person on the map). Number three is that in this event he was a total wuss.
