Making a comeback after 6 years off
« on: August 06, 2018, 08:09:40 PM »
Hi guys, turned 43 last week and decided it’s time to get back in some semblance of shape before it’s too late!

Used to maintain a permabulky 245 ish at 5’10” ... then in 2013, took a job at a startup in The Bay Area, had a kid, stressed out, ate shit and even started smoking lol..... hated my job but the money was really good plus stock options etc. But I basically sold my soul to the devil and ended hurting my health more than anything lol.

Long story short, I’m looking for motivation and hope to be able to get in as good of a shape I once was, even better. Plenty of good ppl in amazing shape mid 40’s, I hate the expression but seems like 40 is the new 32 😇

Thank you, just venting out. Good to be back.

Good to see Chaos and most the crew still around. Missed you kinda (no homo)

40 is 40.

40 today is "younger" than being 40 in 1970, but it's still 40.

You're not old and you don't have to justify your age.

Good luck bro and welcome back!

At 43 you think you're old but you have no clue. It's still really young from an athletic standpoint. Maybe not for professional sports but in the real world gym rat environment you are young.

I would suggest you reject the bodybuilding mentality unless you want to compete. Include other athletic stuff like power clean and jerks, running, swim, bike and even Jui Jitsu.  If you get into shape naturally you will look amazing. No drug using bodybuiders won't be impresses but you will look better than them when they come off. It's good to be in shape year round.

Having multiple little kids ( 0-8 y/o) consume all time. You must have forgotten this over the years.

LOL.... nice pep talk oldtimer, strong points and good to see you're still around :).

Competing would be the ultimate way to keep on track. Easier said than done but just to see what it's like "living the dream" 24/7 for several months, full fledge narcissistic mode, most boring lifestyle on the planet. It be as "the" goal" then get it out of my system (no homo), take that 5" plastic trophy home and move on :)

I do Krav maga twice a week too; picked up my 5yo once and noticed the hot Israeli chick and the plastic ARs and 1911.. "oh this could be fun". They won't let me play with them yet but been really good exercise.

Too late on the natural part... lol... my doc put me in first class on the HRT bandwagon 2 months ago. 200mg cyp/week and Aromasin. I stopped drinking completely at about the same time and within a week I felt fantastic.
