the vegan truth
« on: August 10, 2018, 07:03:36 PM »
you have lower energy , very similar to the feeling of a low carb meat based diet

coffee and chocolate give u a shitload of energy, excellent workouts but i had to quit because my gums are inflamed as fuck from it

beer is easier to consume no hangovers youl get energy from beer but your workouts will be almost nothing

complex carbs will not benefit you at all

trail mix with nuts n cranberries are good to feul up on

fruit juices work , and youll be tempted to guzzle that shit, but the more the merrier is not the case

beans are essential

Chocolate isn't vegan homie. I did Vegan diet for a few months, it wasn't bad, just had to eat a shit load of food to get enough protein from beans/lentils. I enjoyed all the fruits. I had good energy, but always felt bloated from all the beans and rice. Also my gas was absolutely epic. The Vegan protein powders actually weren't bad, I was surprised that I was able to maintain muscle on it. It was a good experiment and glad I tried it, depending on the foods you choose it can get expensive.

Yeah dude, can't knock something unless you try it out for yourself. A lot of guys are scared to do this thinking they'll lose all their gains. Same with keto, people think they'll lose  everything without carbs, not true. Trial and error is the only way you'll ever find out.

Yeah dude, I was eating basically like a burrito bowl, 3 times a day, spinach brown rice and a different bean with each meal (black, pinto, garbanzo, kidney, navy) then a organic fat free salsa, it was delicious but filling. Breakfast I just did a shake with spinach, 5 bananas, blueberries, and Vega protein powder. Preworkout was gluten free oats, almond butter, sliced apple, and Vega protein powder. Post workout was a bowl of mixed berries, 4 slices of ezikiel bread, with cashew butter, and another Vega protein shake. Really all the meals were enjoyable, I was getting a shit ton of fiber and the overall mass quantity of food I had to eat was always bloating me. But it wasn't terrible, definitely think it's something possibly all bodybuilders should incorporate once a year, maybe sort of a detox from meat.

Totally unhealthy. Do it for years and you certainly, 100 percent, will have nutritional deficiencies.

Apparently "coffee and chocolate" = meth. Hard on the gums.

Was mostly vegan for the past few years. A week ago I finally tried a "carnivore" diet, inspired by go4it, but quickly just switched to keto.

I don't think I'll be going back...

- way more even temperament
- way less over-stimulated
- way less joint pain
- can work out longer
- can focus on books and work
- shredded
- better sleep
- need less sleep
- only tired at night
- morning depression 10% what it was
- far less aware of time

downsides:

- cardio is harder
- feel stupid
- more worried about stimulants
- more worried about heart
- don't like eating meat

A healthy and thriving vegan lifestyle is certainly possible IF you know what to eat.

Dude really it was delicious, some days I'd take down an entire watermelon for a meal, you can really have fun with it. In my opinion if you are doing it long term and are into bodybuilding or fitness, you need injectable B12 and creatine. Those you can't get on a vegan diet. Also your omega 3's are going to be deficient, even if you use flax seed, hemp seed, or chia seed they don't really convert well in the body compared to a fish oil.
