John A. Macdonald statue removed from Victoria City Hall
« on: August 11, 2018, 01:21:31 PM »
A statue of Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada's first prime minister, has been removed from the front steps of Victoria City Hall.

The monument was taken down, wrapped in foam and strapped to a flat-bed truck on Saturday morning to be placed in storage.

City council voted to remove the statue as a gesture of reconciliation earlier this week.

'We're here to say there's no honour in cultural genocide and it's time for the statue to go,' supporters say

"Macdonald ... was one of the leading architects of the residential schools which instigated the cultural genocide of Indigenous people in this country," said Rose-Redwood.

"We're here to say there's no honour in cultural genocide and it's time for the statue to go."

This is the equivalent of the U.S. dynamiting George Washington's face off Mount Rushmore, removing it from paper currency, and removing all monuments/statues to his memory because he owned slaves nearly 300 years ago.

In the Canadians' case, this guy merely built schools for Native children to live in and learn Christianity after their drunken and/or dead parents abandoned them. Hardly the same. Naturally, the government-run agency that wrote that article allows no commenting and muzzles free speech.

LMFAO. The Canadians are a joke. Everyone there will be Arab or Asian by 2100.

In related news Justine Truedope vows to tighten Canada's already draconian gun laws further (because criminals have an established record of obeying gun laws) and shares some touching words for his audience concerning the recent shootings in Fredericton and Toronto. No mention of the sexual assault allegations that have dogged him since he came to office in 2015. As with the other article in this thread, no comments are permitted by CTV. Seems Canada's big news outlets are scared of their own people.

Statement by the Prime Minister of Canada on the death of former Cuban President Fidel Castro
NewsStatement by the Prime Minister of Canada on the death of former Cuban President Fidel Castro
Antananarivo, Madagascar - November 26, 2016

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the death of former Cuban President Fidel Castro:

“It is with deep sorrow that I learned today of the death of Cuba’s longest serving President.

“Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. A legendary revolutionary and orator, Mr. Castro made significant improvements to the education and healthcare of his island nation.

“While a controversial figure, both Mr. Castro’s supporters and detractors recognized his tremendous dedication and love for the Cuban people who had a deep and lasting affection for “el Comandante”.

“I know my father was very proud to call him a friend and I had the opportunity to meet Fidel when my father passed away. It was also a real honour to meet his three sons and his brother President Raúl Castro during my recent visit to Cuba.

“On behalf of all Canadians, Sophie and I offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends and many, many supporters of Mr. Castro. We join the people of Cuba today in mourning the loss of this remarkable leader.”

that will happen.
Hey, they got rid of the Civil War Leaders' statues, changed the names of colleges or their sports teams, banned prayer in public schools, took down all references to Christmas in retail outlets and public spaces, why not get rid of the country's founders too?

Yeah, I remember.

But that's why America being a bulwark of freedom, democracy, values, free speech, and respect for the flag and its founders was the only thing that distinguished it from every other country out there over the past centuries. Now that's changing. America's own people, particularly whites but all ethnic groups as well, are actively trying to destroy it from within and their paymasters in the liberal media are aggressively pulling for them with round-the-clock anti-Trump footage while the liberal billionaires steer vast sums of money into anti-gun rallies, busing in blacks from other areas to stir up discontent in hotspots around the country, and doing everything possible to open the borders wide open for everyone who just feels like skipping that whole waiting-in-line and paying-your-dues thing LEGAL immigrants have been doing for years.

Sure, there's good people like you and me, but they're not part of any mass movement or defense league that's counterprotesting in the streets and the ballot box. Trump's election was fantastic, but not enough. There needs to be a red wave followed by a gradual stigmatization and marginalizing of those people who currently hold the world's attention thanks to good Americans not speaking out against them enough or boycotting the sponsors to provide ad revenue to CNN, MSNBC, and liberal organs like The Huffington and Washington posts. When Keurig tried to fuck with Hannity's show by pulling out, his fans made it clear they weren't going anywhere and didn't need their shitty overpriced Chinese-made coffee machines by smashing them on video for Facebook and YouTube. It's time we do the same with everyone else who's sponsoring the radical left lunatic fringe programs, because as much as Rachel Maddow or Lawrence O'Donnell love socialism, they can't exist without capitalism. You'll never catch those guys discussing their 7 figure salaries (8 figures in George Stephanopoulos's case) or how little they contribute to the causes they champion on their deplorable 'news' programs.
