Sergio Marchionne died July 25, 2018.
Just goes to show if you wait too long, you miss your shot. He could've asked him last winter or the year before that when the problems were really starting with Tesla's production output.

Like I said, even if the guy was still alive he'd never bother because he thinks the Saudis will rescue him.

Instead of micromanaging his company and working 16 hour days, maybe he could start listening to his advisers or better yet seek the counsel of former automaker CEOs like Carl Icahn or Sergio Marchionne on how they turned their failing companies around. But that's not Elon's style. He thinks he knows everything.

Elon does know everything and his problem is the same as the person he named his company after.   He's addicted to work.

Not really, he had to put in a lot more time because he was getting flack for his company not making deadlines. You call it being addicted, but others call it being Driven to succeed. To be the best at something, or to be the top of your field, you have to have that drive to succeed. Learn something from that, Vince. Be driven. Like Arnold, like Haney,  Dorian, Ronnie, Phil, Dex, even Jay. All had that drive to suffer and be the best. And Elon in his field has the same.

Hardgainer, how much would you pay to be shot into space on the same spacecraft as Vince Goodrum, CSN, MFT, HPP, CEO, Wiggs, and Tbombz, to all live on Saturns Rings together?

I'll pay 4 other Vince ticket (1 way only)

Nobody knows everything and Elon didn't know that one of his programmers was stealing his code, which is why he sent belated and highly-triggered e-mails all week after it happened. He also fired a large number of people recently in an attempt to trim operating costs while even his best engineers remain baffled about how to fix the automation problems causing his massive backlog of deliveries to customers who bought their cars YEARS ago. He's going down in flames and begging the Saudi's for a charge card account to buy back enough stock to go private and basically let them decide how his cars are going to look. Because that's what you want in your company, a powerful foreign dynasty that lives on oil profits steering the ship of your electric vehicles business.  ;)

This is a fair assessment of the situation.  I would rate Elon's intellect at the genius level.  Academically he excelled, making into Stanford grad school.  When you apply that level of intellect, with the level of intensity he has, for 100 plus hours per week, he makes the impossible possible.

Tesla has had a huge impact on the auto industry.  With companies like VW, BMW, and Mercedes investing ten's of billions of dollars in electric cars.  Nobody coming close to the model 3 in terms of price and performance.

When there are questions not to be answered, take the route of the Biden campaign.

"Tesla hasn’t responded to a press inquiry in months. We have received the odd email here and there from former press people, but it almost seems to be in an unofficial capacity.

If you’re a reporter who isn’t getting a response from Tesla, don’t take it personally, because it’s due to the automaker having dissolved its PR team.

The move has been confirmed to Electrek at the highest level at Tesla with the source saying, “We no longer have a PR Team.” "

Operationally they are hurting. Would benefit from a former GE VP hire. Someone that’s executed well on huge operations projects there. The GE management style would add some more accountability as well.

XFACTOR giving his opinion...based on his extensive business acumen accumulated while selling software in Weasel Piss Creek, Ontario.

Elon Musk Reveals 'Painful' and 'Excruciating' Year in Tear-Filled Interview

Elon Musk is admitting that the stress of his multibillion-dollar companies is taking a toll on his well-being.

“This past year has been the most difficult and painful year of my career,” Musk — the co-founder and CEO of SpaceX, Tesla and Neuralink — told the New York Times on Thursday. “It was excruciating.”
Musk — who reportedly alternated between laughing and crying during his interview — detailed a life filled with 120-hour work weeks, which has often prevented him from seeing family and almost kept him from making it to his brother’s wedding in Catalonia.

This intense schedule has been the case for the better part of the last two decades, which has spanned Musk’s three marriages, the births of his twins and triplets and the loss of his infant son in 2002 due to SIDS.

“There were times when I didn’t leave the factory for three or four days — days when I didn’t go outside,” he said. “This has really come at the expense of seeing my kids. And seeing friends.

When Musk turned 47 in June, there wasn’t much of a celebration, he “struggled” to tell the newspaper. He spent the entire 24 hours of the day at work.

All night — no friends, nothing,” Musk said.
Because he has trouble resting, the Tesla CEO — who dated actress Amber Heard on and off for years — also admitted he sometimes uses Ambien, a powerful sleep medication.

“It is often a choice of no sleep or Ambien,” he said. The Times reported that members of Tesla’s board have expressed concern about his use of the medication, which can sometimes prove addictive.

Wow, what a nice guy, and caring father.

So Musk did all this just to encourage major automakers to produce competitive models of their own and most likely put Tesla out of business?

Makes perfect sense.

Very altruistic for Musk to sacrifice his company on the altar of Capitalism.

Lol exactly.

What happened to his Tunnel train?

All types of things he’s spoken about and never delivered. Seems like battery cars and some rockets are as far as it goes.

Seems like the stock moves on dreams and fantasy.

Space X is absolutely a joke.

Tesla may be highly questionable, less so now, even if it's still grossly overvalued. But space x has huge profit ability and future potential, see starlink satellite constellation, and just the nasa and military contracts alone worth billions.

Falcon 9 space x flight to Leo is approx 70 million, same size cargo the next cheapest provider 200million.

They are legit.

NASA shuts down so Space-X can do it all and never turn a profit? How long can Elon's companies run on "potential"? Who is paying? Somebody is...
