Q - if Trump wants to honor the troops, why doesn't he visit the ones currently engaged in active duty in Afghanistan (or anywhere else)?

The US military just want to demonstrate their might to their public in a less overt way than the likes of Russia and China.

I don't think the people in charge want American citizens to psychologically grasp that they live in one of the world's most highly militarised states (US military expenditure by percentage of GDP is third in the world -behind Saudi Arabia and Russia).

I doubt it would be 92 million.....more like 27 million but the amount of tax revenue from the crowd would be a huge boost to local business and would have been worth it.
