He pled because he was facing 65+ years if convicted, tons of people plead every day rather than take a chance at doing hard time.

The evidence for bank fraud and tax evasion....YES!!

The evidence for campaign fraud violations.....NO!!

He plead guilty to the latter to keep him and wifey from spending decades in the slammer for the former.

The problem is.......he's on record saying (on tape, no less) that he didn't make the payment for the campaign. It's not even a donation because HE GOT HIS MONEY BACK.
