I always liked Dave.......have met him often but that double biceps shot is just horrific
Glad he got out of the game before he became a complete abomination.

Can you post a pic of an abomination?

That's insane it would take me 3 days too eat all of that. People bust his balls but that takes dedication to a serious level. Add all the drugs on top it would be torture.

Why would he lie? Does it make him more manly or hardcore because he ate this much? The guy has a crazy metabolism,  just look at him now, the guy barely trains and he's a skeleton,  he's all sinewy.

Don't you think he would ecstatic if he only needed to eat lets say 8000 calories to get to his goal? What would be the motivation to admit to eating this? Sabotage his fellow competitors? Have you seen Juan Murrells carb up video he has on his YouTube? He documented his 3 day carb up, its insane what he ate and he still came in flat, some guys have crazy metabolisms.

Dave, in the late nineties, was gigantic. An absolute freak.

I attended with him a meeting in Vegas around this era, and, in shorts and a tank top, the guy was ridiculous. He was about 315-odd pounds and VERY lean.

Soon after, as we know, his body began to rebel.
Yeah Rob,I saw Dave at the New Englands one year.................315 covered in veins.

FREAKY !!

I believe he ate like this some of the time but not everyday.  To eat like this everyday would mean he would probably never see the inside of a gym but would be very familiar with his kitchen and toilet.

292 grams of mostly saturated fats per day combined with insulin resistance promoting HGH

Palumboism is very obviously related to metabolic syndrome. Just check out the symptoms and diagnostics and compare, especially visceral fat buildup and atrophy of muscle from insulin resistance. These guys are basically obese people who use drugs to change their body composition for as long as they can. Intramyocellular fats build up and cause progressively worsening IR until not only do their results from drugs and hard training start to peter out, but eventually even start to turn in the opposite direction and now all their efforts are only to poorly stem the progression of atrophy

I have no reason to doubt it. If you have the money, the time and this is what you do basically for a living, this is part of your job. Not only that, the more muscle you carry the more efficient your metabolism runs. Add in the drugs, fat burners and training,it’s entirely possible.

Though this would probably only result from abuse of HGH, not lower amounts?

https://academic.oup.com/jcem/article/88/4/1455/2845123

"n conclusion, replacement therapy with a low-dose GH in GH-deficient adult subjects is associated with a sustained deterioration of glucose metabolism as a consequence of the lipolytic effect of GH, resulting in enhanced oxidation of lipid substrates. Also, a shift toward more insulin-resistant type II X fibers is seen in muscle. Glucose metabolism should be carefully monitored during long-term GH replacement therapy."

that study was done with therapeutic dosages and individuals who were actually deficient in GH.

this one goes into the mechanisms as to how chronic GH exposure induces IR in the cells

I suspect, but can not demonstrate, that pharma has pulled a fast one on people again like they did with women and the estrogen-progestin therapies which ultimately lead to skyrocketing breast cancer rates. The fast one in this case, my belief is that HGH drugs being sold are fundamentally different to the actual growth hormone secreted in healthy youths. However, a simpler explanation might be that the method of administration results in synthetic GH administration behaving an in aberrant manner - having high activity in areas its not usually meant to. Again, this is only my suspicion, I cannot demonstrate this. But there has to be a reason naturally high GH production in youths doesn't result in worsening metabolic condition, but synthetic GH administration demonstrably does in adults.

That's interesting information, thanks.

What is your view on a HGH secretagogue?  Such as MK-677/Nutrobol which increases HGH pulses and increases the bodies natural production of HGH instead of being synthetic.

I'm not sure honestly. my first thought is a lot of what people report could very well be placebo. my second thought is they are probably safer and more closely mimick endogenous GH production, but then, are they even of any benefit to people who aren't GH deficient? which is probably the exact opposite of 100% of guys buying this stuff for physique related purpose, who undoubtedly have absolutely normal levels of GH.

theres not a lot of good (read: not funded by the same company trying to get its novel drug onto market  ;D ) data on stuff like MK-677 yet. Time will tell. I'd sooner use that stuff than HGH however.
