2018 Olympia - Info - Sept 13-16th

Heading to my 20th or 21st Olympia this year!  I think the first one I attended was the one in Long Beach in 1997...

Will definitely see quite a few of you there again this year!


Mr. Olympia Press Conference will be Thursday at 12pm when it all starts!

The Orleans Arena is an awesome arena, seats 9,000+.   The Press Conference and Meet the Olympian's is at the Orleans Casino, which you can walk to the arena.  Yes, not the best hotel, but free parking, food that is normally priced, good restaurants and not overpriced store to buy things. Unlike other hotels. 

The Las Vegas Convention Center is where the expo is at - enough room for all, and more adjacent to the bigger hotels on the strip.

You are right, Amateur Olympia begins on Wednesday this year.

We will be staying at The Orleans and doing live broadcasts from The Alligator Bar there (female bodybuilder/schmoe meeting spot for sessions). And of course at the expo, as well. Meet us for photos and videos for the print magazine and MSTV channel, respectively, as well as a drink.

Some people come to Las Vegas to gamble and eat and have a few drinks and have a good time.

And the Orleans is one of a handful of LV hotel/casinos that does not do their best to RIPP you off!

Whereas the vast majority of those Strip hotels do everything possible to take your money and get ya out ASAP in order to make room for the next out of town sucker.

My big gripe is that the Strip hotels can 'cheat' by running 6 to 5 blackjack tables ... and sometimes 'even money'.

And now they are using 'continuous shuffel machines' that takr your money even faster.

Plus they charge you high fees to park a car even if you are a hotel guest.

The Orleans is what we refer to as a LOCALS hotel where you get a fair deal at the tables, free parking, and decent food at decent prices (except on weekends when they add something "special" on the buffet line which doubles the price).

Oh, ya ... and that damn RESORT FEE!

Only suckers play the tables on the Strip, but the locals who know this town well ....stay and play at the local casinos (except on weekends and when major conventions are in town when all prices can more than double).

The Olympia is a major convention so you'll see the high end of the monetary scale if you are here those days.

The Orleans may be a dump, but it's my dump ... and I love it cause they  treat us well .... when the tourists are not in town.

It looks like lots of tickets are still available for both Friday night and Saturday night but...

Yikes!!!  The prices!  And for mediocre and lousy seats.

For Friday night, which is the finals for Fitness, Figure, Classic Physique and pre-judging of 212 and Mr. Olympia, the ticket prices range from $100-$166.

For Saturday night, which is the Bikini, 212, and Mr. Olympia finals, the ticket prices range from $144-$224.

Yikes!
