Don't worry, Nedbank has the farmer's back  ::).

"Nedbank client services resolution manager asserts that borrowers with mortgages on expropriated property will be obligated to continue bond payments – whether they are compensated by the government or not."

The fine print:

Thank you for the query you have raised with regard to the impact of land expropriation to your bonded property.

Nedbank is not privy to what provisions may be made for land purchasers whose land is encumbered, and what the proposed Review Committee would come up with to address this. However, we believe a balance needs to be achieved between the parliamentary agenda, and in particular the law of contract.

It is important to note the Home Loan agreement is subject to a contractual agreement, and bond payments remain due and payable until such a time that the bond is paid in full, irrespective of any form of land appropriation – with or without compensation. We would encourage you to continue with the bond payments until such time a determination is made, the time of which is also unknown to us.

We trust that our response meets with your expectation.

Gotta love bankers. It’s as if they recruit them amongst the ones the Mafia has expelled for poor morals.

I know it will sound obvious, but I am really glad of the scrutiny being placed on what is a serious situation in South Africa.

Conkers. Fuck you. Come speak to any of the ndunas or gogos from the generation that grew up in apartheid, they literally would prefer it to the power and water cuts, as well as the escalated unemployment and violence, as well as corruption.

Don't even think to draw conclusions avout myself and my upbriniging. My father was chairman of the local council on behalf of the DA for 1st term, and independent for 2nd. He went independent as everyone was corrupt. He also was called twinkle toes by the lady ANC councillors, who used to line up to dance with my father, literally. He also had an MBE, an OBE, and raised us to perceive and react to racism. As I do now.

Nothing helps like a little perspective. So, these SA government derived replies to the issue have moral and logical base. OK, SA has a GDP lower than fucking Missouri (yes, it's true, I looked it up, them compared GDP and GDP per capita for the entire states and california. Perspective for me). What would the consensus be if one of many Missouri officials was involved in the follwing quote:

"

Why did Joseph Nkosi, the South African ambassador to Venezuela, threaten the United States with military action?

It’s the perfect example of ‘think before you speak’. In a bizarre show of pseudo bravado and nationalist companionship, Nkosi offered up the services of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) to help an embattled Venezuelan government.

The Venezuelan government has been having a torrid time quelling public dissent resulting from a dire financial crisis. The country is experiencing a currency meltdown, compacted by nationwide protests, water shortages and a collapse of its healthcare sector.

Nkosi threatens the US with South Africa’s military might
The turmoil in Venezuela cannot be understated, but why Nkosi launched a tirade against America is still up for debate.

Whatever the reason; for Nkosi to rope South Africa into a South American conflict is irresponsible, to say the least.

Venezuelan publisher, El Carabobeńo, reported on Nkosi’s bizarre and reckless statements, made during a diplomatic event to honour former President Nelson Mandela.

Nkosi cited economic blockades as a justifiable reason for military retaliation against the US, saying:

“We have always fought against this blockade. We are going to support them, we are not going to let them die alone. If it is necessary that we bring our soldiers to fight against the Americans we will do it, we cannot allow ourselves to be dominated by the American administration.”

The overeager ambassador didn’t stop there, although he should have – Nkosi went on to threaten US dominance, saying:

“The days of the US dominating the world are numbered”

Let’s be honest here: US President Donald Trump probably didn’t bat an eyelid at Nkosi’s threats. It’s doubtful the US president even took his utterances seriously – if indeed he is even aware of them.

Trump definitely did not tremble at the prospect of encountering the South African National Defence Force on the battlefield.

Nkosi withdraws statements and apologises
Nkosi threw the SANDF under the proverbial bus, without consultation, and without care.

Luckily for South Africa, and its army, Nkosi withdrew his courteous offer of troops.

Daily Maverick report that Ndivhuwo Mabaya, spokesperson for International Relations and Co-operation Minister Lindiwe Sisulu, confirmed the diplomat’s retraction and apology.

According to Mabaya, Nkosi received a stern talking to from the South African Director General, saying:

“It is not government policy. The DG (Director-General of International Relations and Co-operation Kgabo Mahoai) wrote to him that it cannot be done.”

So, fortunately, war with the United States has been averted.

"

Try understand loud and crazy for a bit.

^^ that was the result of good coke. I can see it in a lot of the speeches given by certain politicians her, the sign of someone tweaking under a drug a bit too racy for the brain at the time. Power is a symbol here, coke is a symbol of power. It is, unfortunately, also strong enough to stop ones heart, and fuck ones cerebral cortex up a bit if not controlled.

Oh by the way, Conkers, after you spoke to the older generation, I'd drop you off in section 3, Umlazi. A place I can walk,  with a fuckload of wariness and a local friend. As a shiny, empty vessel, you would be some fine pickings and have some good stories one day.

I returned to SA to do my postgrad in Durban. I earned 4-6000 rand a month, and travelled exclusively on our train and Kombi network. Thats not a luxury, but it is fun. Look up Warrick triangle on Google earth, that was my transit point from train to taxi. Fought off tow muggings there (very stoked with boxing) and saw a thief stripped naked and beaten, and then left to walk home naked. I'm not an ignorant mlungu, I'm a bloody knowledgeable one who speaks better zulu, xhosa and sutho than you do.

Come learn here, stop talking shit.

Only 33% of land in South Africa is owned directly by private individuals. The state owns the most land.

so what? the ANC makes no secret of being a socialist party and was democratically elected, which is more than can be said for the evil tyrants that went before. and very little land has even been taken from whites since the end of apartheid anyway. most credible independent commentators state that the redistribution of stolen white land has been too little and too slow.

https://www.economist.com/middle-east-and-africa/2018/01/25/south-africa-is-getting-land-reform-wrong
"Under colonial rule and then apartheid, black South Africans were systematically pushed off the land. Whites still own much of it. Righting this historical injustice has been a creakingly slow process over 24 years of democracy. The government promised to transfer 30% of white-owned farmland to blacks by 1999; most estimates reckon it has only transferred 10%".

whites SA should be very grateful to the ANC.

Many farmers are already not going to bother planting for next season. They'll rather keep the cash on hand so they can pull it out the country if needed.

I can understand why you wouldn’t wanna leave your home but you have to know when to hold and when to fold, and this is a fold. White people have no business in Africa.

We have an expression here in the states for when blacks move in to town, “There goes the neighborhood.”

I really hope Trump meets face to face with the 'President' of South Africa.

Gathering by Ramaphosa's Mugabe inspired response to Trump' tweet, I get the feeling Trump will just tell him to fuck off.

The reality is that Trump has pretty much coddled blacks in America. He blames all of violence in Chicago on the mayor not doing enough about it as opposed to the people who are doing it.

No passport needed.

The scene inside the house was chaos. A door broken with an axe. Blood everywhere.

And in the bedroom, his parents lying together, their hands tied, their throats slit, the cord of an iron tied around his mother's neck.

“My dad was lying on his back, my mother was lying face down, hands tied behind her back. My dad had a big gaping hole the size of a golf ball in his throat. Their throats were slit, they were tortured. I found an iron cord around my mother’s neck. They tortured her.”

Jo-an doesn't believe the murder of his parents — or of the 20 or 30 of his neighbours killed in the past decade or so — can be written off as mere robberies.

"Not only do they kill, but the way they kill, they torture you," he says.

"This is hate. This is political hate."

EFF leader Julius Malema, who in 2016 told supporters he was “not calling for the slaughter of white people‚ at least for now”, has been accused of whipping up racial tensions. “We are taking the future into our own hands,” he told a rally attended by Foreign Correspondent. “Shoot to kill! Shoot to kill! Pow, pow!”
