Trumps reaction to John McCain's death
« on: August 27, 2018, 08:11:11 PM »
Do any Trump supporters care do defend him before I start?

I am hoping some right wingers (and even Trump supporters) on this board are less than pleased

I assume most Trump supporters know they don't have to agree or like everything he does

The left has been silent about Mollie Tibbetts because it doesn’t fit their narrative because once again, Trump was right. As far as McCain, whatever. He stated long before his death that he didn’t want Trump at his funeral. He kissed Obama’s ass and didn’t EVERYTHING he could to block Trumps agenda out of sheer spite. So again, whatever

Yep, whatever. The left and their fake tears. These are people that try to destroy lives, attack his children (especially the youngest one), attack his wife and would give anything to destroy him financially. Yep, fuck em all. Oh, it’s just not trump, they’ll try and destroy anyone in the same manner if they disagree.

This is a situation where Trump creates his own problems.

Simply say some kind words at the appropriate time and it's a non-story.

I would call it a pretty solid mis-step. He should've just said we hated each other but gave his life to yadda yadda...

Howard doesn't post here currently.

Let's see... McCain help fund/push the pee-pee dossier to any/all media outlets. McCain convince Evan McMuffin to run 3rd party. McCain went on any/all media outlets to bash Trump before/after inauguration. McCain acted as part as the "resistance" in Congress to the Trump Agenda. McCain has pushed for WAR at every possible chance. McCain oversaw the training/funding/arming of the "moderate rebels" that morphed into ISIS.

What an American Hero...  :'( :'( :'( But sure.. take this as another opportunity to bash Trump.

Why is it that everytime a bastard dies, he imediately becomes a saint, with his former haters saying now: "he was a good man". I am not adressing mccain in particular.

See, I thought I read that too.

Then I read his response was two days late.

I guess that one didn't count.

See, I thought I read that too.

Then I read his response was two days late.

I guess that one didn't count.

He had to be shamed by John Kelly, Mattis, Sanders and various veterans groups and even Fox News,  into doing what any other decent human being in his role as POTUS would do by .

This was an easy lay up for him as POTUS and like everything else he does he couldn't get over his own personal issues to act like the leader of this country for even a few minutes and show some respect for a fellow citizen who served his country in many ways and was member of his own party.

I wonder how Trump would have reacted to being held prisoner and tortured for 5+ years

I expect he would say is was very unfair

Quote
They brought him to Hoa Lò prison in central Hanoi — Hoa Lò translates as “fiery furnace” — and McCain was about to learn of the deadly reputation of the yellow stone, concrete-walled prison complex that Americans nicknamed the Hanoi Hilton. At the Hilton, soldiers dumped McCain’s stretcher on the floor. “No American reached Hoa Lò in worse physical condition than McCain,” observed John G. Hubbell in his book P.O.W.: A Definitive History of the American Prisoner-of-War Experience in Vietnam, 1964–1973. Guards gave him minimal food and water. After being bandaged, McCain learned he wouldn’t get medical care unless he talked. For days, the 31-year-old pilot drifted in and out of consciousness. When questioned, he just told his captors his name, rank and serial number. In return, jailers beat him

As blood pooled in McCain’s knee, he begged for care. A medic took his pulse and, shaking his head, said, “It’s too late, it’s too late.” McCain lapsed into unconsciousness, but soon an excited officer rushed in and yelled, “Your father is a big admiral. Now we take you to the hospital.” For the North Vietnamese, Lt. Cmdr. John Sidney McCain III was a royal catch. They called him the Crown Prince, and Radio Hanoi boasted of the capture of “air pirate McCain, son of Admiral McCain.” The aviator was transferred to a medical facility, waking up a few days later “in a filthy room . . . lousy with mosquitoes and rats.” Rain washed in mud. Medics gave him transfusions and blood but, as McCain recalled, “no treatment for my injuries. No one had even bothered to wash the grime off me.”

Two weeks later, a doctor tried to set McCain’s right arm and its three breaks. The man didn’t use anesthesia, and after 90 minutes he gave up and slapped on a neck-to-waist cast. An officer whom McCain remembered as “short and fat, with a strangely wandering right eye that was clouded white by a cataract” then told him that a French correspondent wanted to interview him. When asked about the prison food, McCain told the journalist, “Well, it’s OK, but it’s not Paris.”

Guards returned McCain to a roach-filled room, and interrogators beat him. They did operate on his knee, but they simply cut out the ligaments and cartilage and refused to give him more surgery because of his “bad attitude.” By the time the jailers left him in a prison cell, McCain’s cheeks had sunk, his legs had atrophied, his body had shriveled, and his hair had turned white. “I’ve seen some dead that looked at least as good as John,” said Maj. George “Bud” Day of his and Maj. Norris Overly’s new cellmate. “I didn’t think he was going to live out the day.”

In March 1968, he was placed in solitary confinement, where he would remain for two years.
During that time, however, his father was promoted and became the commander of all US Pacific forces.

Hearing the news and hoping to gain a propaganda victory, the North Vietnamese offered him early release from the hellish camp.

But brave McCain repeatedly refused, saying he would only accept if every other US soldier captured before him was freed as well.

A Vietnamese commandant, angered by his response, ordered guards to immediately beat him and knock his teeth out. McCain still refused to leave without the other POWs.

Then they started routinely torturing him.

This is the kind of nit-picking bullshit Democrats have to talk about right now.  His reaction to someone's death.

Desperately trying to make nothing into something.  God knows they can't beat Trump on the issues.
