If you've never been, I would suggest it just for the experience. You can do Vegas on a budget. Either staying in North Las Vegas, or some of the cheaper casino's on the strip. When we go, we have the mind set to splurge and not worry about the prices.. but it is getting to the point where even if you can afford it, it's almost insulting.

I was fortunate to go a good few years back (when I had $ )
It was a great few days.
This time I’m not so sure I’ll be able to visit - Time wise or Financially.

My friends and I go every year. We are staying at the Cosmopolitan this weekend. I love Vegas, but I think I love getting a weekend away from the wife and kid more than I do the actual destination. I am bringing 2 bottles of Tito's Vodka to offset the ridiculous costs of drinks. Plus, I will be at the pool so I don't plan on eating much. Don't want to look bloated  :)

Yeah, then I would skip it. Nothings changed for the better.

It’s another industry that has had its infrastructure rendered obsolete by the Internet. You can play those video slots games just as easily on your iPhone and save the trip.

Dude, that takes away the real fun.

Wish you'd been at that route 44 harvest concert last October when Stephen Paddock fired up his AR-15 with scope and bump stock. Would've been awesome to see you spurting blood and choking death while people stepped over your f a g g o t t e d liberal ass to save the lives worth saving.  ;)

In the late 70's the rooms were comped and plenty of free food. Now everyone is trying to rip you off. I like dirty Atlantic city. Bring booze in your luggage. Eat at one of the great restaurants outside of the casinos in the city. The boardwalk is good for fast food too. Vegas will drain your wallet quick.

KWON. A  good a friend  died that night ...and your post is pretty damn sick! People here in town take that event very seriously and you'd be lying on the street in a pool of blood if an adverse statement such as that was heard in public.

For you GetBiggers who still come to Vegas, the following may be useful info.

ILLUMINATI ... If you do get some free time and return to LV ,,,, here's some info which may help regarding the 'finances situation.

1. Book a room downtown (Fremont Street area).
2. If you gamble ... do it downtown.  The Cal offers one $3 Blackjack table but it only pays even money, but the ajacent $5 table does pay 3 -2 . The vast majority of the Strip casinos have $10 BJ tables, continuous automatic shhuffle mahines, and only pay 6-5 at best.

But ... Hooters on Tropicana has a $1 table, even money BJ payouts, and that damn coninuous shuffle machine. Good for beginners to learn the game but you only get a 6 ounce comp't beer while at the table. So orde a straight shot ... and not a beer.

3. Eat where the locals eat. That means off the Strip. Best spot to 'dine' is Ellis Island on Koval (one block down east Flaningo).

Great meals at low prices and after 4:30 you'll be able to order the best Baby-Back ribs in Nevada!

And on the way to Ellis Island ... stop in the rough and rugged STAGE DOOR saloon for a $2/$3 beer and chat it up with some damn fine bar-ladies.

But be cool as it's an old-school, LV, rough-neck joint! I love this place and I always take advantage of their very loose 25 cent poker machines.
And I have yet to be punched nor even shot in this joint.

But tha's a strong possibility, so it's usually 3-4 beers and I'm outta-there.

4. Now-a-days ... a beer on the Strip will set you back seven-buck or so, but tou can walk into one of a few Strip 'drug' stores and get a cold, tall one for three-bucks or less. A good 'buy' while walking sown the Strip between casinos.

But better yet.... Stop in Casino Royal and grab a beer at the bar ... I think it was $3 but it could have been less.

Vegas is still a good place for bargan hunters, but you gotta know where to go now-a-days.

ZERO ... You are a wise man .... mainly because you drink Tito ....the best Vodka ever made. My RUSSIAN friends when they come to town each drink two or more bottles a day and their hotel rooms looked better stocked than the down-stairs casino bar.

They figure that they save thousands when they come to town!

TACO ... What does this mean?

a few side hustle shit in that city too

Somewhat related item:

If you just so happen to be in a LV hotel/casino around 7:00 AM. you'll run into a lot of amazing sights because that is the usual time forhe 'girls' to head back home after a 'long dayz night'.

Most recently I saw one of the girls waiting for the valet guys to bring her car and she was wearing NOTHING bigger than a band-ade and two Cheerios in the appropriate places.

No towel and no n0-nothing at all.

And the only person to look a bit surprised was the little old lady in a wheelhair arriving to play a day long game of Bingo!

I guess the irony of killing someone for making light of another guy who killed people is lost on you.

Stay triggered, snowflake.  ;D

Who goes to Vegas and drinks other than trash ?  Bring some drugs.  No bloat. No running to the bathroom to pee and the effect last a lot longer. Coke is huge again because of the expensive cost of drinks in big cities

I want some drugs but I don't feel like getting price raped (no homo) by the hebrews selling on every corner of the strip. They charge double the prices of home. And I don't have any connections for the type of drug I want to do (party drug, not coke).

Stunt, can you help me when I get to Vegas  8)

I used to go to Las Vegas a lot in the late 80's early 90's and about 4 times a year until about 10 years ago. I could see the changes even then from personal to impersonal. From comping for gambling to 6 card decks. But this weekend was just bad. First, it was crowded due to the fight. I stayed at the MGM Grand where the fight was held, (Booked the room way before the fight was announced) and it was also Mexican Independence weekend so with Nascar on top of that it was packed. That's ok. But Vegas used to be happy making money from the gambling, and keeping other costs decent. Not anymore. $65 for a lunch buffet for 2. $8 cans of soda and $14 airline bottles of alcohol in the stocked fridge in the room. No coffee machine so if you want coffee without getting dressed and going downstairs... $18. . . $40 resort fee, $3 charge to use a credit card in a cab, 2 drinks before the Gabriel Iglesias show was $40. It's just getting ridiculous. Sad to see that happen to what used to be a cool place

Some smart business folks figured out that people will pay whatever it costs to have fun in Las Vegas. Gamblers are already throwing away a lot of money, what's a few bucks more? Yup, there's no more free brunches in Vegas like there was 50 years ago. Fifty+ years ago, on our wedding night, my wife and I had lobster dinner at a very high end restaurant called the Sea Dome, we expected it to be expensive and it was. If I remember correctly our meals came to $26. Today, those two meals would probably cost at least ten times as much.

I was in Vegas over the Holiday weekend and ate at Ruth's Chris. They didn't have the "traditional" specials and the holiday special they were offering was "over priced"  compared to what other RC's had to offer.

But gas was cheaper, so there was that.

Airbnb is a way better option,  just rent out a house or condo for Vegas, no resort fees there.
Yep, we got one for $50 a night at a very nice condo.
