To his credit, Spike Lee singlehandedly destroyed the magical negro friend trope from Hollywood by speaking out against it over and over. Other than the ironic character played by Samuel L Jackson in Django - which derides the stereotype perfectly by making him as mean and self-hating as possible - the last time I remember that trope being in a film was Will Smith's fictional angel-like character saving Matt Damon in The Legend of Bagger Vance, and Michael Clarke Duncan as John Coffey in Green Mile. It's pretty much disappeared since then, but used to be super common in 20th century film...a kind but socially disabled or downtrodden black man saving the lead actor (a white man) from misery and helping him shine, then disappearing into the background because his job was done. That was awful.

??? The opening post literally praised him for being the  good kind of negro  who knows his place.
Where in the first post was he called a negro? He was actually praised for not getting involved in racial stuff and posting like a normal dude. ::)

I don't have any issues with al doggity, but he really truly gets it wrong so much I don't even bother anymore. Personally I'd appreciate if you deleted all the posts that stemmed from that dumb statement and keep this thread on topic. I know you have at least that much control here, if not ban power (for shitbags like dearth, g_thang, etc)

Hmmmm, is right. G_Thang/secrawler, Wiggs, Big Dub, Drkaje, Option D, and others (maybe you?), already know how I think about things, and the path that I take. I respect their views on things, even if we may not agree. And G_Thang is right to a degree, Getbig will turn on a person, like say Groink, but Groink had it coming.

If we are talking about black folk, I believe that one should define oneself, and not others who define you, the latter is path that black folk have taken since the Civil Rights era, and it is a path of the weak. And we are seeing the results of that now. Looking for acceptance and love from non-blacks, and when we don’t get it, we meltdown. Because there is this belief ever since slavery, that if we are of some usefulness to the whites, the establishment, then that defines us. And that is not the way to go. Malcolm X was on to something, but hey, whose a President to back, a former criminal and  Muslim or Southern Christian preaching love and acceptance (from whites) through non-violence?

Conker is a half Caribbean from the UK who just doesn’t get the US, and grew up where the government takes care of people, plus may have the resentment built up through his experiences in the UK and being part Caribbean.
So, I can see where he is coming from.

Bro, I can't speak for those other dudes. Don't want to. For me, the "hmmm" is barely even related to your political views. We've gone back and forth and clearly I strongly disagree with a lot of your positions. There are other people on the board with conservative views that I'm cool with in dms. Some of them even say blatantly racist things on the board. When the spirit moves me, I call them out on their bullshit. The thing that gets me about you is how hard you wag your tail to get that pat on the head. OK, I get that you have certain views about the state of the american black. But some of the shit you do is just mad questionable beyond that. Some specific examples? Not too long ago, I was having a back and forth with Thin Lizzy. It was essentially about race, it's obvious what side I was on and what side he was on. He was going on and on about the entire black race is a failure and how I just need to cut my losses, blah blah blah, post after post. Then for some reason- you weren't even in the argument- you jump in, ignore all of Elizabeth's other "points", cherry pick one out and then said "This is all I've been saying? Why do people call me an uncle tom?" Seriously, you have no idea?

or another time- the poster  werewolf operative had stopped posting for a while. His entire gimmick was posting anti-black memes. To the point where I thought he didn't know english. When he returned to posting, you seemed beside yourself. You were all like "where have you been? I missed your colorful posts!"

I'm gonna leave the examples at that, though. I'm always accused of being an obsessive loon and I'm not really in the mood to argue with these crackers over it. You can say "hey, I just like funny memes  even if they are racist" or if a poster makes a point you agree with, it doesn't matter if it's accompanied by a series of racist comments. The fact of the matter is that you have some very clear tendencies when it comes to your posting style and they really jump out at me. It goes beyond simply not getting caught up in the bullshit and seems to be about getting a certain stamp of approval.

Dude, can you just go troll another thread? There's like 30 others to pick from. I realize you think everything's about you but this is a tribute to one poster. At least have the decency to be annoying somewhere else.  ::)

I'll post where I like. You can go back to eating that box o' dicks.

Yes, you can post anywhere. Just like some kid can take a shit in the middle of a mall. But most parents teach their kids not to, because it's uncivilized and annoying. I guess you can't help being both. Keep it up, we're all super impressed with the confused and contradictory points in that wall of text you wrote just now or the childish sniping you engaged in earlier when you butted in with another half-assed epiphany. A grown man acting like an imbecile every time he posts here, nothing new.

A guy who constantly makes homophobic references probably isn't the best situated to judge people for their racial views, especially since he's not a minority himself. It makes you come off as condescending and a bigot, which you certainly are. At least me and Thin Lizzy own our racism. You're just a hypocrite and a closet case.

Parker isn't a combative, argumentative person like you are. He replies with logic, reason and common sense. You reply with hatred and emotion.
Drkaje was the same way, logic, reason and a bit of trolling here and there. Not everyone of the same race has to have the same views. I disagree with a lot of white people, it's OK for a black fella to disagree with another black fella, doesn't make him a sell out or uncle tom.

As far as a "stamp of approval", I would equate that to being a normal guy that fits in with others, if that doesn't go along with your racist views, too bad.

Back in the day, I used to go back and forth and post long posts about black folk, racism, etc, and I saw that I was putting a whole lot of effort, thought, and emotion into debating people that ai don’t know, have never met, where only wanted to get me going. Because their views never changed.
Thing is, you like to go back and forth. You enjoy it. Why, only you can look into yourself for that answer.
Thin Lizzy, says the same thing, over and over again. And posts the same stats, over and over again. A broken record. And then you go back and forth with a broken record. You didn’t call him out, because you did what he wanted.

On Werewolf Operative, an intelligent person can see the game that he was playing from a mile away.

Thing is, you haven’t seen this for what it is. A training ground. Many of the posters on Getbig like to stir up emotions, especially about black folk. And you take the bait. Going back and forth for pages, and nothing gets resolved, yet they get a reaction, plus attention . That is what people want. Giving people th satisfaction that they get under your skin, ain’t my game.
Bottom line, it’s about power. Getting you riled up, is power to many of these people. Thin Lizzy and all of the rest of them hold the same views whether you go back and forth with them or not. Feeling like a victim, is power to them. And some folk need to feel the victim, because otherwise, they have to look at themselves. I am not saying don’t call people out on their blantant racism, like Ahalo, who only saw black women as a vessel for sex, and drove Lobstah off the board. But, people like to troll on here, so picking out what is real and a troll job (TA) takes some skill.

Why can't Parker just be a man and why do racist have to be white?

missed this

imo everyone is "just a man" regardless of skin colour . and who said racists have to be white? it just so happens all the racists on getbig are white. you only have to go through the thread history and look who starts all the threads with racial connotations to see that.
