It is interesting how much your facial features changed after losing the excess weight and lowering your body fat percentage. The horror story outlining the process and pain of recovery should inspire folks who carry extra weight to do something about it now. I commend you for your perseverance.

assuming you arent cave man looking.... get to single digit bodyfat = handsome face (clean shaved, take care of your teeth, nice hair and you are good to go)

with single digit bodyfat, men typically have much more clean skin.... super bro science but something along the idea of less hormonal changes when you are a constant low bodyfat helps. less hormonal acne with fatty face (more estrogen) and more fluctuation of hormones

Thanks guys...kinda weird to get positive replies instead of the typical GetBigger response! (I'm sure it'll come)

The surgery was $12,500, due upfront.  I had it done in 2012.
I do have a small scar around my entire waist, but it's extremely light and small, and the surgeon did such a great job, you cannot see it whatsoever, even in the tiniest posing trunks  ::) .  Unless you're seeing me naked, you'd never know I had it or would ever see it.  I have over 2,000 stitches in total.

Impressive work there.you have come along way.but since no one else has given the typical getbiggers response as you expected,go fuck yourself you fucking fat fuck.Hahahaha.No you look great.

Hey, WEIGHTS! You described your pain after surgery which laseedt a long time.

I recently had some hernia surgery work done and was in great pain for ONLY 10 days whenever I tried to lay or sit down and whenever I attemped to stand up.

Those maneuvers always felt like the stitches were breaking loose.

I don't like pain killers for some unknown or long forgotten reason so I put up with 10 days of misery.

But if I had to go what you went through ... I'd definitely be a drugged-up addict today.

Did you mentioned anything about a dependence on pain killers anyplace up-above? (Possible addiction?)

A few years back I ended up in an emergency clinic and was told I was going to be given a morphine shot, but I simply said, "Doc, That isn't going to do any good. It won't work!"

And after that shot (morphine)  the pain continued and even got a bit worse!

What's up the ladder from morphine? I are dumb when it comes to drugs!

I have never discussed this in detail with a physician, but is it possible that morphine or other addictive shots or pain killers have no effect on some individuals?

I also find it extremely difficult to get intoxicated and usually get that 'filled to the brim' feelng and gotta stop with the 'liquids' before any feeling of intoxication.

Maybe I shoild try straight shots but that would mean a hell of a lot of Tequila!

BOXING INJURY = EYE SURGERY = no need for any pre-surgery drug which would not work anyway.

Am I crazy or just plain nutz?

Thanks for your surgery info.

Yes.

One of my friends is totally immune to all painkillers.

Thanks, IRON.

I guess the following story (supposedly a true story) would be appropriate here.

A good number of the old time IFBB pros told me this story many times and each of them swore that it's true, but I stil have my doubts due to the fact that this story was told in a number of smoke filled rooms filled with a cloud of Maui Wowie.

And in an effort to protect the GUILTY ... no names will be disclosed.

Maybe another old timer would be more willing to 'spill the beans' regarding the who, the why, and the wherefores ...or simply back me up regarding the truth or non-truth of the following.

A well known bodybuilder who is still well-known today was scheduled for heart surgery if he was more than willig to risk that surgery to prolong his life.

He signed up and was wheeled into the surgery room of a well known So. Ca. hospital.

Now here is the complicated part of this open heart surgery story.

He was given what ever it is that was given that placed him in a completely immobile state .... but for some inknown reason he was not given any medical substance that would put him to sleep and completely pain free during the surgery procedure.

So he was immobile and totally unresponsive but completely awake and aware of the what was going on .

Worst part is that he could feel everything! They cut hm open, did somethig to his ribs, and then went to work on his heart!

He felt it all!

HE CAME OUT ALIVE ... HIS HEART WAS FIXED and he recovered fully heart-wise over time .... but his close friends always claimed that he was a lot MORE insane than he was before.

That last sentence may be the big clue that some GetBiggers may only need to guess who this individual is.

If any old time IFBB pros with last names such as Ruelle, Grant, Leonard, Kehn,  etc. ever read this stuff .... they may be willing to confirm and be more specific.

Everyone that has ever retold this story in my presence has sworn that it is true.

But that story was a long while back and was often repeated in smokey rooms when no one was sane enough to refute its truthfulness.

And I've never seen it mentioned on thisGet Big Board.

Any help, WES!?

The power of mind over matter is my preference when it comes to pain management.

Thanks, PRIME, but my mind ain't smart enough to overcome the pain of a stubbed toe!

I just grin and bear it.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention that I was once prescribed PERCOCET which I have been told is very strong and addictive.

But it didn't work and every druggy  I've explained this to wants to know if I have any left!

Grinning and bearing pain is in fact using mind over matter. Your mind is smarter than you know.

There was one time when I couldn't stand the unrelenting pain, that was when I had the shingles. My doctor prescribed Gabapentin, which helped.

I was prescribed, and used, so many painkillers I lost track...everything from morphine to dilaudid to oxycontin, oxycodone, hydrocodone, percocet, and everything in between.  However, I should note that I can NOT use NSAIDS, so ibuprofen/motrin/etc were out of the question, which also led to a prolonged recovery.  Because of that, it was strictly tylenol based painkillers.
Because of the heavy use, I was also undergoing suppositories and the like because everything inside shuts down.  I was basically a pill head for 6 months, but strictly for pain and not for pleasure (never took anything recreationally before, during, or since. and even if i wanted to, the pain was so overwhelming 24/7 that i dont think i could've relaxed and tried to enjoy anything anyway).
It wasn't as difficult as I'd had thought to finally wean off of them as I was very much dependent on them, but the whole recovery process was so mentally and physically draining that I honestly don't remember the come down/tapering off.  I was in a jungle 99% of the time between pain and the drugs that all I remember from the entire 6 months are bits and pieces because I was either crying or doped up lol.
