Blood pressure monitor
« on: September 28, 2018, 07:49:57 AM »
This is a must for any Bodybuilder out there ......

Do you own one ?

How often you monitor your BP ?

I've been trying to get one , the question is which one would you recommend, Wrist or arm monitor ?

The one that goes around the arm measures about 17 inch at most , not sure that's big enough  even without flexing arm ....

Thanks in advance

they're called sphygmomanometers (exactly spelling not guaranteed) and yes, I own one, because I have hypertension. But everyone who lifts or juices should, too. High BP's no joke. I have an Omron.

I have an Omron.
Try to check it every day. Usually ends up being every other day.

Yes, I have one after a health issue last year, totally fine now, but was conversing via text w/ my boy SF1900.

BP is 125/72 constantly at my old age, so its fine...

Arm is thought to be more accurate while wrist is less fuss. If you can find one at a medical supply store it's likely to be better made.

Do not get a wrist monitor.  They are junk, very inaccurate.  There is really no need to measure BP daily.  Once or twice a week should be plenty.  Unless you have a condition that requires daily monitoring.

Wrist monitors are garbage. I could take a measure with an arm cuff and get a completely different reading.

And yeah, once a week is ideal for a healthy adult but most adults never take their BP unless they're at the clinic, which is why people drop dead of strokes, hemorrhages and heart attacks left and right. They don't realize how high their BP is.

That's what I do.

2x a week generally.

Never had any issues but it's good to stay on top of it.

Omron BP760N
Started with the lower priced one and couldn't trust it. This one is reliable and I keep a log.

Most juicers can barely tie their shoelaces, which is why they're all in flip flops or socks in their photos. They don't know what diastolic or systolic hypertension even means or weakening of arterial walls, or atherosclerosis. It's why they end up like McCarver, who claimed to be in the best health of his life with an enlarged heart and a melting liver or Matarazzo who told George Farah on camera at the 2004 Arnold Classic that he was healthy as hell and coming back; 9 months later he was on the operating table.

Can anyone offer any intelligent comments about this latest iWatch-4 that the American Heart Association recommends to evaluate blood pressure?

I have heard that his new iWatch-4 will notify emergency personnel if the wearer falls down and does not recover within  60 seconds.

Also any info on this new watch's ability to keep track of other fitness and health related activities woulld be appreciated.

Thanks!

iWatch-4 is a great tool for hypochondriacs. Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS + Cellular) requires an iPhone 6 or later with iOS 12 or later.
