Maybe you're kidding, but if not here's a brief explanation. She was a respected  spokesperson for black people and women, and her works have been considered a defense of black culture. Her personal life provided a broad spectrum of experiences that many people relate to and thus consider Ms Angelou a roll model.

To be a good liberal it’s very important to canonize this woman. Professing your respect and admiration for her is strong style virtue signaling.

As Scott said, to those of us in the productive part of the world, she’s useless.

That cop in Chicago who shot a black guy just got convicted of 2nd degree murder. The guy had a knife, too. And a juror admitted during questioning before trial she'd have a hard time ignoring the shots fired but was selected anyway. Why would anyone want that job again?

I’ve been saying it for years here. Cops who work in inner cities try their best to not get involved. It’s nothing but trouble.

The reason the cop, who happened to be black, went off, is because the Dindu was yelling at him 5 inches from his face. Watch the 4 second mark.

It's a great job... under the right circumstances. But... for most cops.. taking a life is the LAST option, when everything else fails or is not a viable option. I have watched that video and can think of more than a few times I have been in that same situation and didn't kill anyone.. and having been accused of a cops bias, I still say that cop shouldn't have shot at that time.

Tell that to officer Darren Wilson who has to live in hiding for the rest of his life, lost his job, and was hounded by the liberal media for killing 300lb Michael Brown in Ferguson in self-defense, or those cops that the bloodthirsty DA in Baltimore charged with Freddy Gray's death in their police van a few years ago (thank god they were acquitted). It's not safe to be white and a police officer anymore unless you live in a rural or largely white state. I'm sorry you don't understand this. Your career took place a long time ago, when COPS was on the air and the officers profiled on it were confident in their ability to be as physical as necessary to enforce the law without scumbags videotaping them on their phones or charges being filed against them 3 weeks later. Go on YouTube and use the key words "cop" "police" "brutality" and you'll find like 50,000 videos of cops being taped doing their jobs and millions of triggered lemmings in the comments section calling for his address, for his death, for his arrest, etc.

No, I didn't. Martin Luther King is an icon of the civil rights movement and a black leader of historical proportions. But we now know that he was also a philanderer who violated the tenets of his religion in his capacity as a reverend, and also closely associated (some say manipulated) by the socialist and communist groups of the U.S. and overseas in order to foment discord in U.S. politics. As such, he was not a role model.

Barack Obama was a one-term senator, community organizer, and lawyer who ran for President and won. He therefore is a role model, though not one any person can realistically emulate due to the latter position he occupied. Perhaps for the jobs he had beforehand, and for his education. But due to his preference for socialist, big-government solutions, and the fact that black unemployment and dependence on food stamps increased under his tenure, he was not a good President for the African American community.

Oh, brother.  ::)  I was ignoring this thread because I knew it was probably just pages of you dumb crackers jerking yourselves off, and -surprise, surprise- looks like I was right. You've actually gotten to the point where  you're arguing that Martin Luther King is a poor role model.  ::)

Really interesting stuff.

MLK was a cheating communist scumbag. Good riddance. And you’re whiter than all of us put together so you’re owning yourself with those racial epithets. Liberals never fail to hit new lows on this site.

It's already happened.  Kwon3 has made multiple posts and threads lamenting the  "great" (his word) men who've been targeted by #metoo. Many of them were married. But suddenly in this thread, sexual impropriety is a big deal to him.

I believe in the bill of rights, the constitution, and the presumption of innocence no matter the context, whether it's a criminal trial or a SCOTUS hearing.

You're a troll who posts on multiple profiles, stalks users here, espouses anti-White views (while being white himself), and has rapist tendencies.

I have no problem with this.  Scream and curse in a cops face, get beaten down.  White, black, whatever.

That dindu found out he wasn't as tough as he thought he was.

The reason inner city blacks are treated harshly is that they force you to treat them harshly.  Pussy-foot around with them you will get chewed up and spit out.

I often visit Portland's inner city and never once in the past 50 years has a black person forced me to threat them harshly, but I am not a cop.

Again, you’re at stage one incompetence, so clueless you don’t even realize the extent of your own cluelessness. Portland has 30,000 blacks. New York City has 2 million, probably way more because the census takers are afraid to go to these areas so they just guesstimate.

Funny how the poor oppressed Dindu had access to a phone with a video recorder, something that wasn’t even available to some of the wealthiest people in the world just a short time ago.

Would you then agree that the sniper that killed all those people in Las Vegas should be free until his trial? If we are to presume his innocence, shouldn't we act like it?
