I was thinking much the same. I don't know if they were distracted with the activity outside the cage, or what. Conor may have hit first, feeling threatened, who knows. Dillon Danis must have shit himself when Khabib came flying at him, especially after all his shit talk.
Conor was on the fence being held onto by 6 security guys. One of khabibs mates jumps on the fence next to Conor because he is an innocent victim merely trying to deliver flowers to his mother outside the octogon and cops a clock by Conor.....
Conor is pulled back into the ring and behind security. Another innocent victim of Khabib's team is in the cage and quickly runs towards Conor to get an autograph. As he holds out the pen in his hand, conor clocks him.
A 3rd innocent victim in the red shirt, tripped over his chair in the audience and accidentallly fell inside the octogon where the only way to break his fall was with his fists to conor's head.....
Watch the PPV and you will see Conor ducking behind security and Khabibs guys are hitting him whilst conor is going for cover. There is no doubt in my mind things got so crazy in there conor thought he was about to be mauled by 20 guys inside that ring.
The messed up thjng here is Khabib swallowed all the bullshit. he took mental attack after mental attack like a full on pro.....he won respect.from many people for that....but this shows he was melting down inside to blow up after winning the fight.
IMO i dont like the trashtalk from conor since the mayweather press conferences where he started saying way to much personal shit. Dana should control that and not be complicit. prior to that he was actually funny and entertaining. the nate diaz interviews were piss funny.
