A mathematical genius living in a cabin in Montana is apparently related in some way to the topic at hand, namely Howard's absence of any kind of reverse gear on his progressively more absurd opinions or his apparently equivocation on whether he supports Trump or not due to certain parts of his policies he likes, like money, which I suspect is all anyone in the U.S. actually cares about (and rightly so).

Some folks like to tout their high IQ like it's an accomplishment. It is a gift. A high IQ doesn't necessarily make someone a better person. I believe that Sigmund Freud said, that genius was next to insanity. It's something to think about when someone flaunts their genius status.

Never bought this argument as a human can communicate well with a dog who would be 100 pts lower in IQ so why should a person with a high IQ not be able to communicate with another human regardless of IQ?

Communication is a skill in of itself and a high IQ person should be able to learn it easily if they are as smart as they think they are.  Most are not.  Most geeks take on a identity which makes them awkward in social situations but it doesn't have to be this way.

Since nobody died as a result of the bombs delivered thus far, the newsworthiness of this story will probably fade rather quickly.  One looming question is whether there are additional bombs not yet delivered.

Same reason everyone pleads not guilty. Because the government tacks on a shitload of little charges to pump up the possibility of a conviction.
