I am glad they went with Rhoden purely because it breaks the predictable winning streak of Heath that was stale and boring as fuck. Arnold, Yates, Ronnie, Heath they all got gifts because of this bullshit dynasty winning streak crap. Best man should win no matter how lame his personality. Dexter's an asshole. The least likable Olympia ever, and a shithead even when winning the Arnold in 2008. I posted a video of him being obnoxious when Arnold gave him his trophy. Being the winner of a show can't just be about physique. It has to be about being likable, which Arnold, Haney, Dorian, and Ronnie were. Jay wasn't. Heath wasn't (but he had the best physique and they had no choice for years).

It's a hidden category that the judges certainly do consider before handing out the top 3 placings. It's why Ramy can't break into it. He's made zero effort to learn English and doesn't mingle with the crowd or the fans. Dexter's the same. Ruhl was a horrible physique but got higher placings due to his fan-favorite status, while Cormier had a better physique but was disliked everywhere due to his arrogance. It matters mate.

This is like the elephant in the room, the other things the competitors are judged on. Heath can talk very well when he wants to, his ability to connect with the audience has been a big factor in many of his Olympia wins. Shame he is so spoilt and petty in his behaviour, that has come back to bite him because he is very unpopular now, especially when compared to Jay, Kai or Ronnie.

I can’t comment for the IFBB Olympia judging.
Though I doubt it is.

It’s never been mentioned or discussed at any of the shows I’ve judged
Or any other judges mentioned anything.

Granted I’ve seen judges favour someone they know in their marking
This is addressed by Head Judge when it becomes apparent also the
Removal of High & low scores.

I do agree there does appear to be some sort of anomaly in the Olympia
Judging at times.
That said it is Damn hard to judge at times when there are good physiques
And some have better poses than others - I can see how sometimes a
Winner isn’t the fan / audiences choice.

Never came off that way to me or anyone else while in the gym. I'm at Venice Golds about 1-2 x per week most weeks and we've spoken quite a bit, he's always been cool and accessible.

The Best Physique 9+ out of 10 times does win.

I’ve not encountered any deliberate organised cheating by judges in the Shows i’ve
Judged for NABBA - The Last U.K. qualifier for the Universe was last week & I judged
The winners were deserving of their placings, That’s not to say every judge placed them
In 1st place. There were 9 judges & high & low scores removed the remaining 7 judges
Scores were tallied to come up with a winner.

The Universe is in 2wks & a fair chance I could get to judge There - And so far no one’s
Mentioned anything about anyone being specifically placed.
