Yeah, there's teachers with philosophical objections to firearms (but not to cops who storm the school to use them to stop a deranged shooter, same as celebrities hate guns but love armed bodyguards) but the solution to that is simply to add an assistant (there's always TAs who want jobs) to the room who is there during classes and IS willing to take a gun safety course and a conceal-carry permit (if needed). There's always a way if there's a will.

There's a school in Texas that has had a mandatory armed teachers policy for years now. It's a big school and a big soft target. Zero shootings. It works. Banning guns might work in Australia but this is the United States and we have not just the right to bear arms but to use them defensively. How many mass murders in school and colleges is it going to take before they understand the police are NOT security guards. They can come 3 minutes after a phonecall and not know where the shooter is or be in a position to help the dead or dying.

U know crap about Australian gun ownership , so stop pretending.
More guns than ever in Aussie.

PS. (don't tell others ) any Aussie farmer can write 'rabbits shooting letter' & rifle license is yours  ;)  ;) ;)

Can you walk into a store, submit to a background check, and leave with a firearm?

If not, then don't lecture me on what I know about Australia's gun laws. Go back to writing English like a Guatemalan special needs kid that eats glue at the back of the short bus, and harassing 79-year-old Basile.

I live in America. You're welcome to come here legally if you want to, but one of the requirements is that you learn basic English. Of course, if that's too hard for you, there's a Honduran caravan with about 5,000 making its way across Mexico right now en route to the southern border of our country. It probably smells pretty bad and you may get the $50 stolen out of your wallet, but hey, at least you'll finally live in a decent country.

Here's a somewhat related question.

I'm asking simply because I have not kept myself up to date relating to this subject but ....

When a kid brings a family owned gun to school or if a kid ends up shooting others in that school with that wepon,  are the parents held responsible?

If not, why not!?

Please cite actual 'cases' if possible.

Do you know how many schools in America fit the zero shootings?

It would depend on the state laws.

One shooting is one too many, jack. If you want the full list of shootings in America schools in the last 30 years, including ones without fatalities, I can post it here. It's an extremely long list. You never know when the next one's coming and it'll be a kindergarten this time no doubt, since an elementary school was done already.

Everything you say, lets say it is true. Probably is. But listing a school with guns and touting it as a success because it has no shootings, and inferring if not outright attributing that to the fact there are guns in the school. .. you are better than that

All of America's schools and colleges are potential targets because they eschew weapons on campus and refuse to arm teachers or put armed cops on permanent duty there. This school is not one of those schools. You read more into it than that. There's no cherry picking the fact that buildings with heavily armed personnel are, as a rule, much safer than those that aren't.

Wasn't there a military base attacked in the last few years? Maybe a navy shipyard? I'm not even wanting to argue against guns, but when something just wiggles it's pecker at stats, I have to say something  :)
