Yes, you are definitely on to something here. The high school I attended was one of the largest schools in L.A. county. In fact it covered grades 7-12. There were over 900 in my graduating class.

Supposedly, some of the tougher Latino girls hid razor blades in their bouffant hair styles. After Football games there was usually a rumble (fight). By comparison to young people today, we were innocent and naive. Now many kids think they are adults despite that their brains have a few more years to fully develop and they are emotionally immature. I also think mood altering drugs whether legal or illegal are fucking up young people's perception.

Whew, I am definitely talking like an old man now. Back in the day...
