This is 20 minutes from where I live, and 5 minutes from my wife's mom lives.  This place was at the corner of Moorpark Road and the 101 Freeway, about 3 minutes away from the Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks, and 2 minutes away from Gold's Gym Thousand Oaks (Janss Marketplace area), but on the other side of the freeway.

Thousand Oaks Shooter ID’d as 28-Year-Old Marine Veteran Ian David Long who Used a .45-Caliber Handgun.  The 28-year-old United States Marine Corps veteran, who lived in Newbury Park, was identified by Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean during a news conference Thursday morning. He was a former Cal State University Northridge student who last attended in 2016, the school said in a statement. The gun used by Long was a .45 caliber Glock 21 designed to hold 10 rounds plus one in the chamber. The weapon had been modified to hold extra rounds. A neighbor of Long’s said the veteran had served a tour in Afghanistan
