I feel like I'm stronger than ever in the gym, but I feel like something must have declined that I have not tested - natural sprint speed for example.
I also think with age, it's more likely that I tear a muscle doing something stupid like grabbing a pair of 120-lb dumbbells and doing dumbbell bench press without a warmup.
So far so good though.

I look at it this way - when I was 20, the Macho Man Randy Savage was in Spider-Man [2002]. He looked better than ever...and he was 50.
Now if I start a nice TRT program, I can look better at 40 than I did at 20.
I think it's a really good time to be alive for those of us in the West. I think we can - with the right hormone cocktail - be in great shape at 60, which would not be possible without hormones.
And amateur strongman in Canada now has weight classes under the CAASA league. My weight class is the lowest, and started in 2016 at 170-lb, but is now 175-lb + a weight allowance of 3-lb, allowing me to enter at 178.
I can finally be competitive in a sport that was never really meant for men my size. It motivates me to get my contest bench press up to 355-lb [effectively 2x body weight in contest form].
I know it puts me at risk for injury, but I really want to crack top 10 at the CAASA Nationals in Canada in 2019 in the 175-lb class. I think I can do it - and I want my son to be able to look at my videos to give him an idea of his own potential.
I hope all my fellow aging Getbiggers are doing well. Getbig is still my favourite board by far. Although we are much older now [but wiser

].
