It's likely they settled. They probably realize their scope of options is limited, so they find someone who they think will find them attractive.

If they are in those electric scooters because of health like Parkinson disease I completely understand and I have sympathy for them.  The people I don't have sympathy for are those who got so obese they can't walk and as a result got diabetes, hearth disease and joint problems. It's self inflicted. I saw it in a Walmart. A women walked into the store then sat in the electric scooter. She got half way in the store and the battery died. Some people aren't concerned with physical attractiveness. If your partner was badly burned to 90% of their body, would YOU still have sex with them? Physical attractiveness is very important. That's why women get their hair done, nails, diet and buy clothes. No ugly people on the cover of women magazines. I take that back. There are few exceptions like Michelle Obama. Loving a wife who was badly burned is a different situation. My wife would still love me if my face was bitten off by a wolverine.
