If I was a 60 year old singer/dancer in the public eye, that's exactly what I would do.  Appearences matter to me.  

There is only so much money a person needs to make.  There is only so many shitty pop songs a person can write.  How much adulation do you need in one lifetime?  Eventually the wheels fall off the bus and it's time to move on.
