Actors turn down roles all the time and yet movies still get made.  Your 'what if' is overreaching.

Again, an actor can have his own standards and acceptance for what he’ll play. After he reads a script, he can decide. If an actor doesn’t want to film scenes with gratuitous violence, he’ll choose films that don’t feature such.

If a porn starlet doesn’t want to take objects into her rectum, she’ll refuse the gig that asks her to do it.

If an actress doesn’t agree with a specific subject matter being used as grist for film fare, she will turn down work that fits into sub-styles of genres in which it’s prevalent.

There are N0 shortage of actors and actresses.

Last time I checked, Streep rarely takes on scripts that result in John-Wick-style flicks.
