In my humble opinion, nobody has been owned.

Fact is, try as you might - you cannot own a stubborn person who just keeps coming back.  If you can't shame them, you can't own them.

There is a secondary owning category pertaining to trying too hard to own other people, but I'll leave that up others to ponder.
