Ummm.... no.   He needs the support of his own party first.  If they are the majority it shouldn't have been a problem.  They were.  He still didn't get it.  Trumps just an empty suit that has shown he can't take confrontation when someone stands up to his little bullying tactics.

It's obvious the mainstream GOP politicians are just as bad, taking part in the theater that they are working for constituents...they are "elected" ruling class. Deep down most of us know this though. That's the reason Trump sticks out. Results are not to be rewarded.

Truth be told, it was not a smart campaign promise. The reality is that congress controls the budget. So Trump was making a promise that he would’ve had to depend on other people to help fulfil.
