I think Ronnie serves as a cautionary tale of what not to do in Bodybuilding.

I hope he has a good recovery and is able to now pursue his true dream of being an accountant.

He’s trying to match his 8x Mr Olympia title record with corresponding Mr Surgery Olympias and he won’t stop until he gets there.

Hope when he fully recovers can’t wait for him to make “unbelievable 2” lifting 800 pound deadlifts in your 50’s, post Olympia days

It's hard to think about physical longevity regarding training when you're in your 20's, 30's and even 40's.  No one including myself thinks that some day you're be in your 50's and 60's with self inflicted damage. I know many bench specialists that can't bench anymore because of the damage they did to their shoulders and elbows. I think Bill Pearl said that after 55 he trained with the thought of not damaging his body with heavy lifts. When he was training at 65 he said he didn't care what was on the bar. He trained fast and hard saying many a training partner couldn't keep up with him when he was 65.

I still lift with what is relatively heavy for me. Many of my joints have problems from time to time. I look at so many volume trainers like Danny Padilla who say their joints are perfect and wonder if all this heavy lifting is healthy past a certain age? Then again Yates said in effect if you want to be the best you have to push it to the limit. If you do then you might pay the price for that. Playing it safe is a losing strategy.

This is what young lifters need to understand.  I lifted mod-heavy for the last 34 years.  Although I'm still training with only a few physical limitations, in hindsight I wish I had taken more days off not squatted so heavy.  My back and knees are paying the price right now.  My knees sound like celery sticks when I climb stairs and my lower back is stiff every morning.

Oh well... it's better to be a has-been than a wanna-be.

There's a 73 year old guy in my gym that trains really hard and shockingly heavy.  His voice is clear as a young guy and you can see he is not an old man.  I can't picture this guy not living to 100.  Saw him a couple of weeks ago doing sprint intervals on the treadmill.

I'm only 46 and I gave up benching years ago.  All dumbbell bench and pushups.  Wish I would have trained this way my whole life as I trained in my 20's and early 30's with heavy weights even doing the all singles program  in Brooks Kubik's book Dinosaur Training.  My shoulders were wrecked for years and I thought I would never have normal movement again but fortunately for me I totally healed up but it took a long time.

Oh he's accounting for those fake muscles now.  ;D The bill is steep too.  It's no secret that I despise that asspuppet moron for his addiction, false faith and fake build to name but three despicable traits of his.

That's amazing.  How long has he been training?  He could be on GH, TRT or both.

If you call pain killers "positivity" then I would say he's full of it.  That and shit.  Coleman couldn't count to three unassisted.
