Propecia/hair loss anyone have experience
« on: January 27, 2019, 10:43:53 AM »
Was taking propecia for two months and while I stopped shedding for the first time in my life I experienced lower sex drive, shitty erections, lack of morning wood, and some slight depression. Immediately got off and got prescribed a topical propecia/mindoxi combo from a compounding pharmacy and the side effects have gone away.

Any long term propecia users? What sides do you have?

One of my friends had the exact same side-effects.  He eventually manned-up and shaved it bald and smooth.

I heard that long term use of Finasteride can permanently fuck you up for life.  FDA could've give 2 shits about safety, they approved these drugs too quickly.  It's all about money, not health and wellness.

my 2 cents

most properica side effects are mental from their users. someone on another forum have data to support this claim. ive researched some hair loss forum

also from another forum - some guys got good results at .5MG daily.

I am concerned about my hairline but I do not have mess with properica. i am still on the natural route as long as i can.

(super solid keto with lots of high fatty rich foods) salmon etc
supplement with Biotin, other items, (saw palmetto)
and use topical Rogaine 2x a day.

my hairline is pretty legit - we all know a hairline can fold fast but i am doing everything i can to prevent it - my prevent treatments (rogaine and some OTC supps) cost me pennies in the long run and gives me peace of mind.

fyi those laser combs... i have never personally tried them but i know ppl who have... and the verdict they didnt work

i have looked in, messed around with different treatments but my current treatment is the best one yet (cheap and effective) also i have good hair genetics too

Yeah, I'd stay away from pharmaceuticals if at all possible.  If I go bald I'll either shave it skin bald or get a Steven Seagal wig.

Propecia can in some cases cause irreversible impotence.

Minoxidil/Rogaine can also be systemically absorbed and cause hair growth on other parts of the body. It can also age the skin on the face and alter the pores. Some users on forums have reported negative sexual side-effects even though if applied topically it would have the opposite effect, but it works differently on the body when absorbed systemically.

Was reading propecia can cause pens fibrosis. Some damaging of the smooth muscle tissue which dht is responsible for maintaining. Then again I am on TRT so maybe I won’t have this side effect?

Considering a hair transplant eventually. But here is the catch. You need to take propecia after a hair treansplant so we are all fucked either way. We want our hair to attract women but whats the point if you can’t fuck them? :D

Where have you heard about the sides of long term usage? What study's have been done?

I guess "long term" is relative.  3, 6, 12 months?... whatever.  I would never put this crap in my body.

If the doctor who first prescribed Proscar for my prostate and told me one side would be less hair loss, yet never mentioned all the other sides you so apply described above were still practicing, I'd sue his ass.

Will meditation stop the effects of dht miniaturization of hair follicles?

i am assuming he means cut back on the stress maybe with meditation methods ... as we know stress alters hormones

"Low cortisol hair loss is intrinsically linked to adrenal fatigue. When stress is sustained, some claim that the adrenal glands can be overworked due to excess cortisol production. ... The result of this fall is that your body is unable to produce other important hormones that impact hair loss, such as testosterone"

I'm not opposed to meditation, it's very beneficial but hair loss via stress is temporary and the bald spot will regrow once the stress is managed/alleviated.

DHT sensitivity is the main issue as is western diet.

Been using it for over three years and haven't had any major issues. Amount of semen is slightly reduced though.
